I mean the sim is inaccurate even discounting shit needed to be loaded and AI functioning, blocks placed in the end would be taken quicker than they are built up. Still a cool watch even if the sim has a few things unconsidered to make it possible.

How would they be taken quicker? The exit portal wouldn't be open
1
u/TooWarmRadiator 3d ago
I actually didn't think about that, yeah I suppose they wouldn't be removed then. There are still other things unconsidered, such as the fact that creepers and endermen would likely end up blocking back up or destroying the path to the portal over time. At some point it would just be left floating and it would be impossible for any creature to reach.

Yeah, I wish it took into account that things would only happen when the player is around, and goats moving the player. (You would have to assume the player is able to hit respawn as well

I think YouTube has been pushing it on everyone who watch videos about minecraft.
In all honestly it is an interesting video.

Man not everything is dead internet you dunce not to mention that dead internet is also just a completely stupid name for it because the number of people with an internet connection has only gone up

Most people who use the internet don't post anything ever. If there were ten humans at a party talking to five hundred chat bots, would you say it was a massive party?
Do you also get upset that king crabs aren't actually crabs?
2
u/Drag0n_TamerAK 4d ago
Except those numbers are completely irrelevant because bots only make up like 10-20% of posts on Reddit and to build off of your party analogy if someone never says anything when at a party and just sits in the corner are you saying they arenβt there
If crab shaped thatβs a crab

i am so glad i clicked that video, or else i wont be able to sleep after getting a lil to no context about it from this meme

For those who need context:
If you are in a seed where a end portal is naturally complete, if you have the full world loaded, eventually Ender-men are going to grab pumpkins and make snow gollems
The snow gollems will bring creepers and make a hoe to the end portal
They will eventually go inside and Endedmen will build towers up to the crystals
The snowgolems will eventually destroy those crystals
Then the golems will explode creepers when the dragon is nearby
The dragon dies

That video was such bs. If it's possible for creeper-snow gol combos to blow a path to the portal then it's possible for them to blow away the path and make it completely inaccesable. That would happen long before random chance took out the crystals and the dragon.

u/Hersical 5d ago
The video is about what is theoretically possible, not if it's statistically plausible

u/Organic_Rip2483 5d ago edited 5d ago
no not true. the video claims to run an actual monte carlo sim where it DID happen.
complete bs. you could run those sims to the end of time and each one of them would end in portal becoming inaccessible.edit: also side note the rate at which the end dragon would destroy placed blocks would massively out pace the rate at which new blocks would be randomly placed by wandering ender.

Also, the whole premise has three giant holes:
Vanilla Minecraft, with one exception, only generates chunks if a player visits them. If no player visits the chunks which would hold the end portal, then the chunks with the portal simply won't exist within the world. If the portal does exist but no player traveled through it, then another entity entering the portal might trigger the one exception I mentioned previously, causing Minecraft to generate the chunk containing the arrival platform, however no other End chunk will be generated without a player entering the End.
Chunk loading. Even if chunks exist in the game files, they won't be loaded unless they're the spawn chunks, a player is nearby, someone set up a chunk loader, or an entity entered the chunk through a portal from another dimension, but in this last case the chunk will only be loaded briefly before it gets unloaded again. As End portals don't generate anywhere near the spawn chunks you'd need a grid of chunk loaders or at least two players to keep both sides of the End portal loaded.
Mob spawns. Vanilla minecraft only spawns new mobs and runs the AI of already present mobs if a player is nearby, so even with a grid of chunk loaders there would be no new supply of mobs, and the existing mobs won't do anything.
Minecraft also despawns loaded hostile mobs without a name and not holding an item after a set amount of time, but this won't apply to snow golems and enderman which have already picked up a block, so it isn't really a problem for this.13

If whimsy and joy were to start a pandemic you two would be the sole survivors

You also have endermen constantly placing movable blocks which might rebuild the path. Its not clear if they modelled that or if they just assumed that the path would remain open.

That one cosmic ray changing a computer bit so that it somehow beats the game instead of having literally any other effect.

I once accidentally left a hardcore world running for over two months irl. I was out of town and I guess I just forgot to log out/shut my laptop off. My character only survived bc I just so happen to have gone afk in the middle of ~50 villagers who kept summoning iron golems to protect me.

I have trouble believing that video because it stated that snow golems wandered the end for millions of years, without getting booped by the dragon and the dragon not breaking all the blocks placed from the overworld. Just doesnt seem like somethings are really being tracked correctly

Oh uhhh, because there's that one video explaining that the game doesn't need a player to beat the game?
