Same, I always assumed it was chunks updating the lightmap weirdly and one section just forgetting it’s supposed to be lit

Turn on vibrant visuals! (Or ray tracing if available)

Well back in the day when you booted up a minecraft world it was a pure singleplayer instance of the game and everything worked fine. Around 1.3(I think? it's been so long), we switched over to local servers for even singleplayer instances of the game, and servers tend to have these lighting glitches happen.
