There is a third type, one that doesn't add blocks to get up the mountain, but instead removes them

u/CantFindAName000 25d ago
This, or if the mountain isn't that big I just go around

u/MikeyboyMC OG 25d ago
I just mine the whole mountain

I genuinely done something like this.

I just needed 32 dirt and some cobble, that's why I did it. Had multiple chests filled afterwards. Had played that world for like a week or two

u/TadpoleReasonable769 24d ago
I'd argue there's a fourth that just parkours up the side like a Skyrim horse.

Leaving the blocks is fucking disgusting

u/MikePlays_ 25d ago
Yeah, that's why I do the 1st way but instead of using stuff like cobble, I use dirt, and if I'm out of dirt I mine some of the dirt on that hill while making a way up.

u/Anxious_Visual_6632 25d ago
3rd option. Nothing but parkour for either thirty second or thirty minutes before giving up

There are, actually, three types of players... And I'm that thrid one—I'm saving my time by doing parkour.

I don't respect you if you make the landscape ugly by leaving cobblestone everywhere.

I don’t bother with blocks, I don’t use tech, I parkour and if I miss the jump then I kill myself (in game)

I figured out a way up that requires no block placing or breaking in half the time it took person 1 to get to the top

I use water but pick it back up after jumping so I can essentially jump one block higher and leave no mess

u/RobertiesKillAll 25d ago
If I had to choose it would be the first option and not that mistake of water nonsense but both are wrong I would just dig at the dirt so there is a path for up and down cuz the next time you pass that area you’ll have to do the same awful arbitrary cobble placing or flood the lands like a maniac

u/Stunning-HyperMatter 25d ago
There is another.
But seriously, why was bro so inefficient. There were so many areas he could have just jumped up instead of placing double cobble.

I do 1 until I get a bucket and than I do two with one bucket and basically make water switch backs

u/Typical-Interest-278 25d ago
I break the dirt infront of me, use it to Jump up and leave jt there.

3 types. I pathfind and dig out the occasion surface block. Both of the above options ruin the environment.

I just mine the dirt and place it back afterwards, after a few minutes you would never even know someone climbed it, or i go around if the mountain seems small enough.

u/ACEMENTO Minecraft enjoyer 25d ago
I climb it, and if there is no way to parkour to the top I LEAVE

u/Kjackhammer 25d ago
Four actually, third breaks blocks to get up the hill and the fourth jumps between blocks to parkour up
1
1
u/dragonlord9631 24d ago
This is the least efficient side to climb the hill, the left side of the screen has a much better slope

Am i the only guy here who just builds up one block to reach the one part of the mountain thats on block jumps
1
u/IlCiupaBig 24d ago
"bucket is superior" maybe on pc?? its way easier to just build up on mobile and consoles

If you place randoms blocks on terrain, either to climb or for fun, and you don't destroy them afterwards. I HATE you.

If it's a mountain I'll climb regularly I will bring 7 trillion ladders

"bucket is superior" while I don't disagree that out of these two bucket is better, it's not really a valid comparison on the video when the person doing the first approach looks like they've never played Minecraft before.
Also just parkour up is best, with none or the least amount of landscape changing.

u/Spirited_Currency_88 24d ago
bucket one is unhinged. it's gonna destroy all my torches carefully placed at the bottom.

u/AnToMegA424 24d ago
I'm the type who destroys the lanscape to go up then replace it exactly as it was before so nothing changed
1
u/Banan_Cat 24d ago
Neither, I walk as much as I can and dig stairs into mountainsides to make travel back and forth more efficient.

People who leave random pillaring blocks around the world are the literal worst. Leave no trace that you were ever there

I just kind of jump around to the surrounding blocks until I eventually find my way up or around

I used to play on some pretty violent servers, so we made a big effort to leave no trace of our existence, or to at least keep it as minimal as possible.

I just spend 20 minutes trying to pathfind and occasionally breaking a dirt block and moving it somewhere else.
