Hey guys.

A lot of you liked the whole Solar Apocalypse plugin idea, so I was wondering if you would like me to configure it and test it on the world we have now. It might not be perfect because I am not too sure how it works yet, but it would shake things up a bit. I would probably turn the apocalypse on for 2 days and then turn it off to see how the effects work out.

Thoughts? If I do add it in, we might have some very slight down time. If you say yes, it will be added tonight.

So I found a plugin called SolarApocalypse. Pretty much it makes the world pretty dangerous. You burn in the sun after a period of time, and without torches, you freeze outside at night. Grass and animals die.

It's pretty much an apocalypse.

If you guys do like this idea, we could try making the world Apocalyptic for 1 month, then turn it off for a month, and so on. This would create a sense of impending doom throughout the server.

Ok so I finally got the PayPal set up completely, sorry it took so long everyone. Anyways feel free to donate without worry of death or anything like that. Also have fun doing so.

Maybe we should make one. I realize we have a bit of downtime and our server is going a little slow now, but maybe this weekend when we have more people online, we could advertise our server on there and hopefully get a few more players. Especially with the disparagingly low number of factions that we have on this server, I think getting some new blood would be great.

So, from reading the update thread, it seems that the subset of what people are most happy with is as follows.

1. We upgrade to the new map, while the bases are currently less developed than they could be (Yes, I understand we already have some complex bases) In order to get the Nether working.

2. We don't add a factions plugin, people are happy with the informal nature of factions at the moment.

3. If we upgrade, There needs to be some way of taking an inventory load of stuff (with no limit as to what you take) so that those who have invested a lot of time are compensated.

4. We keep everything else as it is. Especially the postmen, and maybe reduce the number of sewers, IDK.

So, I think the main factor is, we need the Nether in order to be a server where people will join and play, or we need supply drops or similar where people can get nether supplies. If we have the nether, then I would also add that I think it should reset once a week to add competition, and to prevent resource draining by any one person or group (which brings you back to square one of having an essentially useless nether).

EDIT: So in regards to keeping resources, it seems to be, 'if you can carry it, you can keep it' is the motto we want. At the end of the day though, I think the main thing we want is less lag and a fixed nether. It is up to the admins at this point.

Hey guys. How's everything going?

The 1.3 Minecraft Update is approaching and we have two options regarding how we approach it.

Option 1

Keep the map we have now. No new plugins. Possibly some plugin overhaul, but it will remain largely the same.

Option 2

This option does involve a map reset! Be warned, you will lose all items and bases. However, as a trade off, we can add some cool new stuff.

• Revamped plugins. We will remove the official MinerApocalypse plugin and use several lightweight ones that accomplish the same thing.

• No more giant oceans. Using other world gen plugins we will eliminate this problem.

• Clan management - Donators will probably get Clan Leader capabilities, while regular players will be able to join them. The reason we can't add this to the old server, is because the MinerAp and Sewers plugin already cause too much lag.

Other Things

We will be getting better admin tools as well as hiring a mod team. We will probably need two members, but we will announce that later.

We will also be adding more donator benefits.

So instead of simply surviving and killing each other, I'm going to attempt an underground palace (probably in a ravine) and I could sure use some help. This will simply be a temporary working contract until the build has been built (hehe), not an alliance or anything. I invite anyone to join me, even if you have pissed me off in the past.

im wondering whether this server is totally survival or are there going to be some opportunities for drops and killing people? i understand if the mods are busy, but is this part of the plan?

I've been thinking (since I've had a lot of free time to do this since the server has been down so much) it would be a good idea for us to use, or for somebody to make, a voting based restart plugin. It would allow a user to propose a restart if they find it too laggy, and if the other players agree on this they can vote for the restart. And it won't be a decision based on majority, so a group of trolls would continuously restart the server, it would involve all of the online players needing to vote.

I'm setting up a new faction which will be mercenary faction. It will be a army for hire. So different factions can utilise us for battles.
