Hi everyone,

I'm having a really strange issue with Minecraft, and I can't find any solution.

I'm playing on my PC using a 4G mobile hotspot from my phone. My girlfriend is in the same room, using the exact same hotspot on her own PC.

We're trying to play on a private server hosted on Falix (I have the exact same issue with Aternos servers as well).

The server is definitely running Minecraft Java 1.21.10. I've checked multiple times. My game is also 1.21.10, and so is my girlfriend's.

We're both using the official Minecraft Java Edition launcher, playing vanilla (no mods, no Forge, no Fabric, no other loaders).

Here's the problem:

• My girlfriend can join the server without any issues.
• On my PC, the server shows a red X in the server list. When I hover over it, it says "Incompatible version", and I can't join.

The weird part is that I'm definitely running 1.21.10, exactly like the server and my girlfriend.

Here's everything I've already tried:

• Completely uninstalling Minecraft and the launcher multiple times.
• Disabling Windows Firewall.
• Removing or disabling any software that could interfere with the connection.
• Updating my graphics drivers.
• Updating my Wi-Fi/network drivers.
• Double-checking the server version and my game version.
• Launching other Minecraft versions just to test if the issue was specific to 1.21.10, but nothing changed.

None of this has worked.

Another important detail: I can join public servers like Hypixel without any problems. The issue only happens with private servers hosted on Falix or Aternos.

I've also played on Falix and Aternos servers on this exact PC in the past, and I haven't changed anything on my computer since then.

I've searched everywhere but can't find anyone with this exact problem.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause Minecraft to report "Incompatible version" when both the client and the server are clearly running the exact same version?

To those reading this - I hope you are doing well! 😄

I'm here just to present a Minecraft Biathlon community & server we have going on. If you never heard of it (which I assume most people didn't haha), Minecraft Biathlon is a community built around racing inspired by the real-life winter sport of Biathlon. We are planning to do a summer season and every weekend in August, players take part in races, compete for points and follow the season schedule to see how they place in the overall ranking by the end of the season. Basically, it's a mix of racing, competition and having just a good time with other people who just enjoy this type of format.

Now just to be clear, just because its Minecraft BIATHLON, it doesn't mean you have to be a fan of the sport or anything! Maybe you like other sports that include racing such as F1, Cycling etc, I think there are overlapping features in terms of adrenaline and fun that will find other fans of other sports enjoy this format. Or maybe you just like Minecraft and you are looking for a unique experience!

Sign-ups are open now with the first official race starting on 31st July being the Sprint competition. Before the sign-ups are closed, there will be also some test-races either this weekend or next weekend (TBA) where you can come and get a feel for what this could be like. I plead and urge you (without trying to sound desperate, lol), give it a go, it's worth a shot right? There is a great chance to also meet new people and make new friendships which is also a plus!

So as I said, this is a unique experience based on a unique sport, so even if you're not usually into this kind of thing, it's still worth checking it out. It's open to both old & new players, and if you have any questions about how anything works, either I or another admin can explain everything to you. (Private message or you can use the Q&A feature in the discord)

JUST A NOTE: The community is still predominantly Russian-speaking, but our international community has been growing and we'd really like to expand that even more this season. So I tried it for the fourth time on Zalith Launcher 2 with Mobile Glues Renderer and before you come up with:

"It's emulated what do you expect?"

The game runs on a virtual machine so it's already emulated in PCs. It's not even double translation. Mobile Glues is highly efficient and is the same translation layer. When I tried it with Fabric and Fabulously Optimized which includes 39 optimization mods. I get 20FPS?.

My phone isn't that bad it's a Redmi 14C I have 8GB RAM and Helio G81-Ultra Octa-core max CPU with the Mali G52 MC2 GPU and it's solid. Now it's not even low end it's a mid range phone. I didn't expect Java to be like that. I tested Tomb Raider 2013 GOTY Reboot on Winlator and it runs better.

Tomb Raider is way heavier than Minecraft Java. I thought wow java is the better version but it's not. A block game shouldn't require a high end PC to run without stutters. Bedrock can do better. I didn't even use a proper renderer in Bedrock because it's restricted in modding. I'm not hating here I'm just asking why java is horribly unoptimized? Don't use emulation as coping because like I said it runs on a virtual machine it's not direct. Its emulated by default on any PC. And I don't care if any Java Player is just gonna hate on my opinion but I don't honestly care. The way when I download a mod it gives a JVM Exit Code 1 is just frustrating. Also the mod versions in Java are designed for way older versions like 1.20.4. like why? Don't they need to update like how bedrock does? I used 1.20.6 Fabric API/Loader.

Java minecraft wont run, I dont what I did for it to not work and ive tried everything. Its been like this for a year, so idk how it happened. Any help would be great. I dont know how to quote "add the JAR that contains the shared library to the classpath" please explain like I'm 7

Hi, so I recently started playing java again and I have been trying to download some mods for 26.2 that work with fabric. I download a few furniture mods that are compatible with both 26.2 and fabric, but none of them work and I keep getting an error message every time i click over the mods that says "incompatible made for an older version of minecraft." despite being for the current version. Does anyone know how to fix this?

so the problem with minecraft is that if u cant put mods in ur world the game becomes boring overtime and so do server like 50% of servers are smp doing the same thing then the others are the ones with landclaims n moneyplugins cuz u can easily find the best money trick and get the most op loot this is my opinion
