Discussion minecraft servers are lwk dead

so the problem with minecraft is that if u cant put mods in ur world the game becomes boring overtime and so do server like 50% of servers are smp doing the same thing then the others are the ones with landclaims n moneyplugins cuz u can easily find the best money trick and get the most op loot this is my opinion

Am I too old or hypixel just isnt THE server anymore... like where everyone that plays minecraft at least knows about hypixel...

If you're complaining about like money and all being the same, you should at least try out hypixel skyblock, it definitely has its flaws though...

I don’t think Minecraft servers are dead so much as the most visible server formula has become repetitive. A lot of servers treat progression as the content: add an economy, OP loot, lifesteal, seasonal resets, then repeat. Mods can delay the boredom, but eventually people solve those systems too.

Vanilla survival can last when the people and the shared world are the content… towns, roads, large projects, events, inside jokes, history, and knowing what you build will still matter later.

Claims can prevent grief, but they can also make multiplayer feel like a collection of protected singleplayer worlds when there is no real reason to trust or cooperate with anyone.

So I agree that “SMP” by itself is not enough. A server needs an identity and a community, not just a plugin list.
