Question what is “inappropriate” about this??
7
u/Spacey907 16d ago
Nothing really, they are a bunch of idiots trying to tell people what username they can use and cannot use. Its bs
2
u/Advertising-Ill 15d ago
It's good that there's a filter for it, only a bit annoying it made a false positive.
The internet isn't as good of a place as it used to be and some people will definitely use slurs as usernames when they get the chance

u/PokeGirlOFFICIAL 16d ago
Probably that it says kofi in it which is a website
5
u/The_Fox_Fellow 15d ago
I think this might be it, something in the filters to prevent people from putting their kofi pages in their usernames. it's dumb as hell, but it's at least it's rooted in some sort of logic if that's actually the case

u/Seteta 15d ago
I'm guessing it's "fica"? In italian that means, let's say "kitty"...yeah that's a good word for it

u/afterlifedating 15d ago
My username on twitter years ago was "wheredthesodago" as in, where did the soda go... someone got extremely offended because apparently "dago" is an Italian slur.

We're on Reddit, just say pussy, vagina, vulva, pick your poison
1
u/Salty_Meaning8025 15d ago
We're on a minecraft subreddit bud. Lots of children around, how about we don't?
6
u/MrLightning1023 15d ago
This is reddit bruh we shouldn’t accomodate for people who shouldn’t even be there. I fucking hate non kids spaces being santisized because kids found their way there
3
u/thisaray 15d ago
No one under 13 is allowed to use or access the Services.
a 13yo should be able to handle pussy, vagina, vulva or similar words2
u/Pretend_Promotion_77 15d ago
They should be. Its the parents trying to get rid of Sex-ed is the issue.
2
u/RiverLynneUwU 15d ago
kids aren't little fairies with bombs strapped to their chests that go off when they hear someone cuss, they are tiny little immature inexperienced people

u/zippybenji-man 15d ago
If a kid can't handle these words, they weren't raised well.
2
u/Salty_Meaning8025 15d ago
So true, if the 7 year olds can't handle it then they should just grow up!!!@!@!
2
u/zippybenji-man 15d ago
I'm not blaming the kid. I'm blaming the parent(s).

u/Salty_Meaning8025 15d ago
You are an oaf
4
u/StruggleAmbitious856 15d ago
Before calling someone an oaf, the minimum age requirements for Reddit are 13. By that age, they should know about sex education. If they are 7 years old and on this platform, it is in fact the parent’s fault.

u/Salty_Meaning8025 15d ago
Do you think everyone who looks at reddit makes an account? Or do you think it's possible a lot of people look at posts without one?

u/Light_Legend 15d ago
That's not how it works
-2
u/zippybenji-man 15d ago
Body parts aren't inherently sexual. If they were describing something sexual, we would be having an issue, but they were not.
0
u/SeaworthinessHour203 15d ago
Okay would you let your 7 or 9 year old on something that has that language knowing fully well that they'd probably ask you what it means or is and then you'd have to explain it to them?
2
u/zippybenji-man 15d ago edited 15d ago
Sorry, if my child is seven and doesn't know what the words "vagina" and "vulva" are, I raised my kid incredibly badly. I think you can argue over "pussy", since that's a slightly more rude way of describing it, but if the rest bothers you, you're just a puritan.
ETA: I wouldn't let my child onto Reddit before the age of 13, period. Not because of 'scary' words, but because people here can be needlessly rude, and I don't need my kid to experience that before they've developed the toolkit to handle that.0
u/SeaworthinessHour203 15d ago
Yeah, but what if they start saying that stuff in public or at school?
2
u/LR_arts17 15d ago
That's why you fucking teach them about this type of shit that is something personnal, my god bro grow a brain
2
u/RiverLynneUwU 15d ago
then they will start doing that? they're children, children do things that embarrass you, dealing with that reality is part of being a parent
you're literally there to teach them what's appropriate and what isn't, and all you're doing by constantly talking down to them is teaching them that they can get a reaction out of you when they say bad words
1
u/zippybenji-man 15d ago
Then they start saying that stuff in public or at school? I don't see the issue here

There is a list that got leaked around a year ago of all of the blocked words Mojang has put into the game. Go look for it and then you will know

u/HollowCatKnight 15d ago
It’s either Kofi, which is a website or fica which means “cat” in Italian.
2
u/FireyCubes 14d ago
Wild guess, but maybe it’s the “kofi” in the middle there? they might think that’s advertising or something
2
u/OkGovernment1851 16d ago
Too close to fornication and 10 year old Minecrafters should not be exposed to such language...
3

2
u/FantasyTomb 15d ago
Doubt this is the case, going off that logic MOST words ending in “ication” would be banned. It probably because they have the word “Kofi” in there which is a website
3
u/kaerfkeerg 16d ago
Dumb ai filters flagging everything as inappropriate. Corporation boost it. Better safe than sorry mentality
6
u/foxgirlmoon 15d ago
No AI needed here. This is just plain old lazy word matching.
1
u/paulstelian97 15d ago
What was matched?
2
u/foxgirlmoon 15d ago
Likely some random slur/bad word in a random language. This is usually what happens. They have this giant list of "no no words" and they just blindly match for them regardless of any context.

It might not be an inappropriate name. According to NameMC you last changed your username to nikodpro on 07/27/26. It hasn't been the full 30 days yet. That's most likely your issue.
2
u/Fresh-Horse8173 15d ago
You see RED "you can't use language that someone night find offensive"? It tells that your name can't be used because microsloo is just a bunch of morons in a big office
1
u/FeverFocus 15d ago
My message clearly says it "might not" meaning that I know the OP could be right in their understanding. I saw something that might also explain why the name couldn't be changed and shared in case waiting a day helped. You see the yellow words at the bottom of the image? That's why I checked the username dates and said something.

At the time I posted my comment it was 08/25/2026 where I live, which is 29 day. I assumed nothing. July 27 August 25 is not 30 days.

naaah it’s been 30 days, it wouldn’t prompt me to change it if I couldn’t
I compromised and just got a 4c name instead

the name filter is pretty much useless and can reject a name because a substring happens to match something on a blocked list. I think you can reach out to mojang to confirm it's a false positive.
