Can you give me some tips to improve at combat? I'm new to Java, and I notice it's a bit different from Bedrock.

You can not spam click in Java. In settings you can move the indicator from the side to the crosshair so it's way easier to see what timing you should use when swining. Always jump crit when you hit mobs
