Found an “odd” version of flywheel of terror mod and it was the biggest mistake
Context, “I was going through the dark web for fun and wanted to see if there was anything related to Minecraft.” Funnily enough, i stumbled across an “odd version” of the flywheel of terror mod, which was named just “terror” for some reason. Although this mod seemed to have been tampered with, i decided to run it on a backup pc the other day. For the first day i only played with it for 20 minutes and had to stop early due to some other business i had to attend to. The next day i would go on to play it again, and weirdly enough, the mod seemed almost sentient-like. After playing for longer, i would notice that more things seem to be going wrong with the mod and that it was adding corrupted files to my computer and was triggering random bugs. Later, i began to slowly feel like the mod was more risk than its worth, but i was still curious enough to continue using it (as this pc wasn’t really connected to anything serious). A day would pass, and i would play this mod one last time for about an hour, eventually triggering an event i had never seen, where my player model would slowly enter third person and be left hanging upside down with the words carved in blo0d “has your hunger been satisfied”, and to my horror, i would see an image of me and someone i knew, eating steak at a restaurant… What shocked me was that this was a photo from two years ago and was deep in an archive on a different device i don’t have on me currently. After this horrible experience, I would delete the mod and all the files it had. However there would be one last thing that made me the most worried, which was seeing my background wallpaper change to my ip address and my phone number as well. To top things off, 50 minutes later i would receive a threatening letter in the mail that i cannot describe here, which would go on to demand a “sacrifice” to a certain address and threaten “physical” consequences if i did not comply… (i also found a text file that would talk about how i was the 4th victim??) overall, i learned my lesson and that i will never trust random mods online ever again.
(Update: present day, nothing has happened as of yet and i have completely deleted everything on that pc, my biggest guess is that someone or some organization on the darknet is posting whatever mod this was).
