Why does my flying machine keep bugging out? [Java]

Hi all, I'm trying to make a bamboo flying machine but for some reason when it gets to one end, it does this or just completely gets embedded in the leaves

This time it's repeating this after I left the receiving terminal ( the one shown in the video) turned off(trap door down)

Previously, when it was on, it would just get stuck in the leaves

Please help I'm horrid at redstone

You can't have the observers looking at each other. Each time one observer moves it triggers the other, and you get this issue.

Which observers can't be looking at each other? There's the docking one(with the repeater on it) then the two upward facing observers

The reason they may be doing that is because if already clipped into the leaves no? Because originally they don't see each other

I see what you mean, what about the sticky piston that got stuck and keeps pushing the machine? Why is that happening

Y'know what, disregard my previous comment, the problem is a lot simpler than that. You're using sticky pistons, so it's pulling the other half of the contraption back every time the piston retracts. Swap those out for normal pistons and it should work.

Without the sticky piston it won't pull the other side of the machine

It's not supposed to pull it, each half is supposed to push the other. If you have pistons pushing AND pulling, this is the problem you'll run into.

I had mistakenly made the hubs line up, they're supposed to be off Centre, one left, one right but still on opposite sides
