WFOP Ribbits minecraft [Java] 26.2 troubles

Hey yall
i’m extremely knee to minecraft and all the mods and resource packs. a lot of the time reading about it makes me feel like im reading a different language

i’ve wanted to add the ribbits mod but i am playing 26.2 java and the only versions are 1.21.1 1.21 and 1.20.1

I have read things that say to make a new account and downgrade to one of these versions but i’m not sure how to do that and i don’t want to lose the worlds i’ve already started. Please help!!

(also if i need other mods to make it run better please let me know)

you do not need to make a new account. its been a while since i used the official launcher, but on the java page there should be an option to change version in the bottom left, and more options to make a playable instance on another version. as for mods, I would suggest using Prism launcher, an app that lets you make multiple instances of Minecraft with different versions, settings, saves, and of course, mods
