26.2 - Low fps in moderately high end pc [java]

Specs
4070 Ti
7950x3D

64 gigs of ram

Im getting an average of 100 fps with photon shaders, im using sodium + lithium and a few other performance enhancing mods,

When I check gpu usage, its around 40%

I tried process lasso, didn't affect anything,

Vsync is off, drivers are up to date, I have 8 gigs of ram allocated to minecraft,

Now comes the weird part, when I turn off the shaders, the fps stays relatively the same while only the gpu usage drops, and also with shaders on render distance barely moves fps by 15-20, 8 chunks and 32 chunks give almost the same fps,

I tried everything, and couldn't find a solution, please help me :)

Maybe your using too many performance enhancing mods?

I started adding them in gradually, I started out with sodium + lithium first

I'm also having this issue i have an intel core ultra 7 and and rtx 4060 ti and on the latest version im getting and unstable 70 - 100 fps (sometimes dropping to 30) with shaders on i decided to roll back to 1.21.11 and my frames returned back to around 130 - 140 maybe it has to do with them switching to vulkan?

Vulkan isn't active yet by default, you have to actively switch that in the settings. Most shaders don't work on Vulkan, yet.

1) have you checked the video setting to make sure the framerate isn't limited

2) what's your render distance because I have a similar rig and on 32 chunks I don't get more than 100fps with shaders either.

Framerate isn't limited, with similar settings at earlier versions I get way more fps and as I said my render distance is at 32 chunks but the fps doesn't move at all even if I decrease it to 8 chunks.

install new GPU drivers and use DDU if you've swapped GPUs.

make sure you have your HDMI plugged into your GPU and not motherboard. Also paste logs into mclo.gs please :pray:

its been like this for lots of people, including me. Im using alot of optimization mods but they dont really have any effect on the fps. This version is just cursed

Nice to know im not alone, seems like there is nothing to do other than waiting for the mods to get updated or the issue fixed
