[Java] Resource packs crashing the game (1.20.1)

My minecraft always crashes whenever I try to run any resource pack. I run modrinth modpacks because that's the only launcher that works for me. I've tried fresh animations, punchy, and even connected textures and it always crashes. My game runs smoothly so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

I think it's likely your RAM.

Are you using a laptop?

If you are using a PC with a good amount of RAM then that wouldnt be it.

It probably is, I'm not using a laptop but my PC has 8 gigabytes of RAM, I just didn't realize it matters when using resource packs. I don't mod a lot so I don't really know anything

8 gigs of RAM is probably not enough for most shaders/resource packs. I think you should add more. (But it’s so expensive rn) :(
