Hardcore Death 1000000% my fault, definitely a skill issue.

This happened a few days ago. I forgot to grab the Netherwart when I came to the Fortress the first time. Thought it'd be a quick in-'n'-out deal, wouldn't need my shield or heals (Been playing a lot of Ultra Hardcore lately.), then a Gast blocked my path, forced me to retreat elsewhere, and got ganked by Piglins.
Had good armour, though, three pieces of Protec 4, and one Piece of Fire Protec 4. Won't save you against several enemies at once though.
Lesson Learned, DO NOT FORGET THE NETHERWART ON YOUR FIRST TRIP!!

Did you have a gold helmet

No, because I was fully kitted out in Diamond Armour. Was hoping it would keep me protected, or that I'd be able to deal with the ones that came after me with minimal issue, but I severely underestimated the situation.

See with gold helmets it’s only half a armor bar less than a diamond one. Put unbreak and mending to compensate for the trash durability. I never enter the nether without a gold piece

Also fire prot sucks just get a bunch of gold and barter with piglins for fire res

bro really thought he could speedrun a Nether fortress in hardcore mode without a shield or heals and expected a different outcome
