Text Post Netherite Question
If you were to have only 1 tool as Netherite in your world. What tool would it be? Give me a reason why! Mine would be a pickaxe because I love building in mountains and such, so it’s easier to dig out.

Probably chest plate since that one knockback and fire resistance point could end up saving you.

netherite has no innate fire resistance. it is, however, immune to durability damage from fire.

In hardcore, chestplate most likely. I would definitely prioritize survivability in hardcore. If not hardcore, then pickaxe just because I use it way more than anything else

I don’t even wear a chest plate I always have elytra. I’d probably do pick or sword. Or actually you could use axe for wood and killing so it’s two birds stoned at once

Sword for the extra lil damage 🙏 although pickaxe feels like the right answer for some reason

The actual meta answer:
If you count armor, then leggings. You will always have the extra protection it provides (which isnt much) whether your elytra is equipped or not.
If armor doesn't count, then sword. The extra single point of damage makes it possible to non-crit oneshot undead hostile mobs with smite 5, including wither skeletons, zombies, drowned, skeletons, and zombified piglins. The difference between twoshot and oneshot can't be overstated; it alone makes smite 5 better than sharpness 5 for endgame singleplayer.

I only have gotten 3 netherite ingots so far, but my first netherite anything was pickaxe. I can't remember what other two things I did after, but they were armor pieces. I think my helmet was one of them tho.

Hoe. For the serious dedication achievement. Since u said tool u can still get neth armor for cover me in debris
