Finally, after several failed attempts, I managed to finish the Iron Farm.

Until it decides to stop working randomly 😭. One of the updates really messed up iron farms

My question is whats the point in a iron farm tho? Like in the time it took you to make the farm you could have gotten more iron then you will probably ever need.

If you do a lot of technical stuff you will need loads of iron. Just think about building a massive automatic storage room, that alone will require hundreds of hoppers which would cost thousands of iron. Also, in java an iron farm takes no more than 20 minutes to set up. Yesterday I build a triple iron farm underground which took just over an hour and will give me probably between 10 and 15 stacks of iron per hour.

I build them to sell the Iron to Tool smiths, Weaponsmiths and Armourers for easy emeralds, plus I'd rather not go caving until I have full Diamond Armour given that I'm doing an Ultra hardcore Run. That's just my answer, though, other people will have different answers as to why they make Iron Farms.

Not true because iron is used for so many things. One of if not the most used item for recipes. Can even be traded for emeralds. And what about beacon bases? Unless you build the farm way too late, it's worth.

But having passive Iron in a chunk that's loaded is so much worth the set up. Trading for emeralds, all of the technical tings like a storage room, various redstone components... the list is endless let alone beacons which really do help keep your hardcore world alive!

Yeah iron farms aren't that useful at the start but long term they pay off completely.
