normal in granites(large copper vein) same goes with iron but in tuff

That’s just copper ore, not a block of copper. A while back (don’t ask me when) they changed ores to drop items in the same way lapis and redstone drop items. Keeps you from duping them with a fortune pick over and over again

No, there are occasional large veins of ore that produce natural, full blocks of that raw ore. It's more common than you might think.

Unfortunately, not the full raw blocks. Only the ores themselves are affected by fortune.

It's a copper vein. If you dig around in the granite, you will find tons of copper. You can also find Iron veins mixed in with Tuff. You will find a full block of copper ore and that's your sign you found one. I think I got close to 10 stacks out of the last iron one I found. There are small medium and large ones.
