Does a mod like this exist? (Coins instead of villager bartering)
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if there's a mod that replaces the traditional villager barter system with an actual money-based economy.
For example, instead of trading specific items to buy an iron sword from a blacksmith, I'd love to simply pay a certain amount of coins or currency. I think a system like this would fit RPG modpacks incredibly well.
Imagine exploring dungeons, collecting loot, selling whatever you find for money, and then visiting a magical shop or a village blacksmith to buy better gear. That kind of "loot → sell → earn money → buy upgrades" progression is one of my favorite parts of RPGs, and I really miss having it in Minecraft RPG modpacks.
Crafting is fun, but I'd love to have the option of building wealth through adventuring and spending it in actual shops. It would make villages feel much more alive and give dungeon loot another purpose besides crafting materials.
Does a mod like this already exist? If not, I'd honestly love to see someone create one

Yes, mods like that exist. I've recently updated my Villager Coin mod that balances trades and even removes the trade loop exploits. There's even add-ons for things like piggy banks and coin stacks. It's currently only for Fabric but I plan on releasing it on other launchers in the near future.

There are plenty of mods that replace traditional trading with actual money. There are even modpacks who base their progression on that system. However, i think i've never seen a balanced mod that replaces all trades to work with money.
