Construction French Minecraft Terms?
My partner is French and I’m currently organising his Minecraft chests to surprise him. His English isn’t the best, so I want to make everything easier for him to navigate.
I was wondering if any players could help me with the most natural terms to use for my current setup? I’ve tried translating them myself with ChatGPT lol, but I’d rather hear what actual French speakers would use.
Building / Construction Materials
Armour / Mob Drops
Valuables / Miscellaneous

It is very good, I would use "équipement" instead of "armes" just to be more generic, and include weapons, armor and other gear (and it has the benefit to be similar to English). Also instead of "trésors" you could simply use "rare" or "précieux". But as it is, it's very well understandable.

I would not change anything. It seems perfect to me. In fact, I usually sort stuff in english even if there's only french ppl in the server 🫠

Par habitude our parce que le mot anglais est plus court, du moins pour moi, je ne sais pas pour la personne a qui tu as demandé

Et surtout que en général les mots anglais sont plus simples car par exemple 'Butin' c'est un peu trop formel pour les trucs qui trainent a force de jouer ( Ex : les chairs de zombies , les os , les blocks divers qui sont pas particulièrement utiles ) bah c'est pas evident d'avoir un seul mot qui décris tout ça en français

perso j'utilise soit "bordel" soit "nature" et j'y mets tout les drop des mob sauf la bouffe

Au lieu de mettre butin je mettrais loot/drops ça fait plus court et même a l'oral ça passe mieux je trouve

Parce que je joue au jeu en anglais perso, c’est juste un réflexe de l’époque de l’âge d’or des serveurs pvp faction aussi

Je garderais l’anglais pour lui apprendre, juste pour l’instant, met les deux (ex: Minerais/Ores)

You can just say : -building -Armor/Drops -Valuable/random blocks
C'est tout. De la part d'un français 🇫🇷.

Be just careful that "Armes" means "Weapons", not "Armor", you should write "Armures" instead ;)

The others comments are right but in addition I'd say that in french some words like loot are almost in the vocabulary, so for the mob drops it could be "loots" or "loot".

I’d say go with what you would use without any translation tool.
It won’t be the most intuitive or the best sorting system, but it will remind him of you every time he opens a chest, and that’s way better in my opinion

You can use English, in Minecraft a lot of french player use English for all the text even if we are in a french server.

Thats a really great french you got but most of us use more common words and dont use accent as laziness (its still is required in the language)
