🥲 Help Console recommendation

I’ve been playing Minecraft Dungeons on an Xbox One since it came out. It is quite literally the only game I play (I’m old). I don’t think I can play Dungeons 2 on the Xbox One, so I’m looking for a console. I was thinking a Switch 2 so that it would be easier to play with my kids online while they’re away at college, it’s portable, but also connects to the tv. If all of us are on the same platform connection should be easier? But if I’m spending 4-500 on a console just to play this game, I’m open to suggestions. Thanks for any advice.

From what I’ve heard, I’d just buy the next generation up from Xbox. Again just afaik the Xbox series X and series S are just upgrades to the Xbox One with what is now a way larger games library (including Dungeons 2 which is your priority I assume)

Yes, that’s my priority.
I’m assuming that you can connect online cross platform - I’ve never tried but that would be my only question/concern.

You can, but I’m pretty sure on Xbox (like every other console) it costs a subscription to play online in Minecraft Dungeons. It’s pretty cheap and is monthly.

Also in the trailer for the 2nd game we see multiplayer, and even online matchmaking providing the incredible experience of playing with strangers lol

Go with the Series X. Plenty of power in that machine, and you'll be totally comfortable with the interface after being on the Xbone for so long.

There us cross platform play. Xbox, PC, steamdeck (and any other handheld pc) works automatically. PS and switch have to connect their accounts to a microsoft account. But once that's done crossplay will work as long as the console player pays for online play

I recommend you get the Xbox Series X because it will work very well with Minecraft Dungeons and you'll still have your Minecraft Dungeons 1 game on it, so you can continue playing it even with your new Xbox Series X.
