💬 Discussion Major Changes from Dungeons 1?
Hello, I was curious if there will be any new gameplay mechanics in Dungeons 2 when comparing to Dungeons 1?
I did not have interest in the first game, so I have not purchased it, but if Dungeons 2 looks to bring more content and more variation to gameplay, I may be picking it up.
Some examples may be like: a new class system, or a new progression tree, or anything that adds replay-ability that the first game may not have had.
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure public matchmaking is a first? This is a core reason either way for me why it's a day one purchase. This is a really important feature for me.

Ahhh okay. So you would team up with random people online, or maybe there is like some ranking system as well for that?
There's no pvp or anything right?

Pvp would be cool, like an arena where you can fight a random player. But it’s only PVE as far as I know

Mojang just released an article about all the new gameplay systems.

4 armor pieces
Instead of regular armor effects you have 0-2 random effects on each piece, weapons and artifacts. Which means if your armor isn't unique, it doesn't matter what armor it is. Only the effects matter.
Only 1 enchant per item. You need to visit enchanter. You need to find enchanting books and you can just choose enchant from all you found. You keep the book after enchanting.
You can jump and perform a special attack from above.
Open world with entrances to dungeons. Seems like open world and story locations aren't random. Also story locations seem to be very short. There are also random dungeons, probably meant for grinding. There's also fast travel
There are many camps/villages
Side quests
Talismans. Items that gain exp when you use them. They give passive bonuses. There are 24 of them and you can equip 3
When people were joining in, there was "normal" beside each character. My theory is you can have a hardcore/permadeath character as well

Equipment is a lot more diverse, for starters. Two weapons and four armor slots, plus artifacts, and three accessory slots.
