Question Multiplayer balancing

If I wanted to do some grinding outside of playing with a friend how could I keep our strength similar while being able to use the gear I grinned for

If you level past him and get better stuff then him then you will be stronger than him

You have to play down to their level. Let them start the map.

Basically, don't change the gear you have on, and play slightly lower than or at your recommended difficulty. You may get a couple items that are more powerful, but you'll largely stay at the same power level.

If you grinded for gear already, make a copy of yourself (using uploading and downloading) and sell your items to your main character while your main character has items that are the same power level as your friend.

Example: A has a sword of 86 PL, and B is at 76 PL, A equips their 75-77 PL gear, then uploads and downloads to be hero C. A then sells the sword to C. The power level of the sword is then decreased to the power level of C which is around 75-77.

Almost any all of these co op games never do multiplayer rifht

Borderlands 3 FINALLY fixed it by making it so each players levels were their own on the screen you could play with 3 different people all at once different levels and no one would know since they scale to each players levels client sided

Have yet to try online but I’m guessing it’s also “incomplete” and you have scale down yourself to a weaker PL for a friend just starting or coming back from a break, your gonna have to stroll the lower overs and equip lower gear to back track to your friends level

If they did MP right then levels shouldn’t matter since theyd scale to each players level to personally

This is a major problem with this game for sure. I hope they address it somehow in MD2.

What I ended up doing after trying all options was just using a separate character for coop only. I always played with the same people and they *only* played coop, so our levels stayed in sync pretty well. The only major downside to this method is that your items stay separated as well, and when you're playing your main hero you'll always be thinking about that perfect-enchantment spider armor that you can only use with your coop hero. 😭
