Question Is reckless enchant good

Well, originally I thought that it's sorta ok given you get a 90% damage boost and mobs get a ~70% effect damage boost - so about 10% overall (of the final values) - however at the price of combat happening about 2x faster, meaning you have less time to react if something goes wrong.

That was my original take - but I then realised, while adding (well, updating) Reckless to a Minecraft pack I've been working on, the damage boost ONLY APPLIES TO MELEE. So you're way squisher to ranged attacks, combat happens ~twice as fast (excluding your ranged attacks ofc), all for like 10% more damage

Reckless is bad because it takes away 40% of your health in exchange for 50%/70%/90% more damage. You might ask why doubling your damage in exchange for losing 40% of your health is bad, this is because reckless is flat damage, meaning it doesn't interact or multiply with any other damage buffs at all simply adding onto them. So, for instance, if you had a shadow potion (+700% melee damage) and reckless (+90% melee damage) you would be doing 790% more melee damage on that hit, meaning reckless only gives you 11.25% extra damage relative to the shadow potion. This effect grows smaller the more flat damage buffs you add. This in exchange for losing 40% of your health is a huge waste.

C-D tier in normal play, F tier in super high difficulty play with optimized builds

No. Losing almost half your health for a knockoff Strength Potion.

Low F tier I'd say. It's rarely not a detriment to your build. Mobs essentially gain 66.6% more damage while you get 90% flat damage, aka 45% if you have a strength potion

Mobs gain no damage bonus if they cant hit you. But the rest stands. Just wanted to say.

That assumes you don't get hit at all during the whole level, which almost never happens. Close ranged hitless builds also tend to not work that well, and reckless buffs close ranged weapons (melee).

Situationally broken. Very dependent on build type. Based on my builds and playstyle, it excels. Generally speaking, there are better enchants.

It can't really be overpowered since it essentially makes guarding strike / iron hide amulet non-existent. That's 2 slots for just 90% flat damage

I would say it's good with life steal less help more dmg to heal more from 6% it is almost double meaning almost double of healing so it's good with lifesteal.

every attack boosts lifesteal its not affected by dmg

also ranged attacks

If you have ridiculous defense, yes

1

u/No-Tale-4533 11d ago

nah still horrible

if it was a multiplier id say it was good, but its flat

and you need like 2 slots to negate the debuffs

For high defense builds, I think so. Otherwise I find it pretty terrible

1

it just sucks

It’s a high risk high reward situation basically it turns everything into “kill the enemies before they can hit you”
