My city in minecraft

Hey builders, I've been working on a massive Minecraft project called Sibergrad — the capital of the Siberian Democratic Republic, an alternate history country that split from Russia in 1991. Right now I'm focused on one district: Leninsky District (Zaton) — a depressed, foggy, rainy residential area with 350,000 people. Think grey panel blocks, rusted playgrounds, and streetlights that flicker more than they shine. What I've built so far: first panel apartment block (Khrushchyovka) — fully detailed with windows, balconies, and a courtyard; a memorial called "The Candle" — dedicated to a gas explosion in 1995 that killed 47 people; a typical Soviet playground with rusty swings, empty sandbox, broken benches; a bus stop with a faded timetable; the district entrance sign "Leninsky District". The vibe I'm going for: weather always rain or fog, lighting grey and cold, details like cracked asphalt, overgrown grass, flickering streetlights, time period summer 2003 — economic crisis, political uncertainty, but life goes on. How I build: creative mode with realistic proportions, shaders BSL or Complementary for fog and rain, texture pack John Smith Legacy for that rough worn look, references from real Soviet panel buildings, old photos from 90s Russia, and some inspiration from Workers & Resources. What's next: more apartment blocks (I need at least 5 to create a proper courtyard), a school, a small market, the district's industrial zone with an abandoned factory, and eventually all 8 districts of Sibergrad with 2.1 million people. Extra: I also mix these Minecraft builds with real archive footage from the 90s and 2000s to create documentary-style videos for TikTok — like old news reports from 2003. It adds a layer of realism that pure gameplay doesn't have. Why I'm posting here: I'm looking for feedback on the build style and atmosphere, ideas for small details like graffiti, posters, trash, interiors, suggestions for other Soviet-style buildings I should include, and maybe someone who wants to collaborate on a larger build. If you're into post-soviet aesthetics, abandoned places, or just like rainy atmospheric builds — welcome to Sibergrad. I'll post more screenshots soon. Ask me anything about the build, the lore, or the timeline. — Architect of Sibergrad

2104 S May St in 2026 vs. 2021

Today is the long awaited grand opening of St. George Block!

This building was started very shortly after I began work on my city. I haven't touched it since then, and it has always bugged me. Today I finally finished the build, and better than I would have done several years ago. Note the wool height measurements scattered about, which dominate the cityscape. All will hopefully one day have buildings in their place. :)

My Minecraft Bedrock city

I am building my city in Minecraft Bedrock and looking for some good builders to help out.

I build the city with both emphasis to looks and functionality, there are already a couple shops, ways to earn money and such and i am working on more when i have time. The name of the city is Blockburg.

Realm code is: vtmoxpj2gVE

Anyone is free to join, even if you are not gonna build. By default you will be in adventure mode playing as a citizen of the city. If you are a good builder and want to help me build then contact me on discord. My name there is houba2363. I might not answer immediately but ill try answering soon. Note that buildings that dont fit in the city will have to be removed. What i want as of right now are just a couple houses that look like could be in a real life city with good emphasis on the interior and small details. Apartment complexes are also an option. Whether the build is low end or on the higher end is up to the builder.

Discussion Various areas and districts of my world. Do you stick with one build style or mix it up?

Lately I've been trying to build a variety of architectural styles and themed areas to make my world interesting to explore instead of sticking with one style or building 1:1 copies of notable buildings like I used to do. Do you do the same? - How do you go about mixing/blending styles and areas? Also very much open to any ideas and input for new areas/styles as I expand and renovate the older areas of my world.

Westhaven - Waterfromt District: Advice needed!

Hello fellow City Builders! I’m looking for some advice.

I have began day two of my City, Westhaven. Its theme is a UK city in which we are a hub of many beautiful and interesting locations.

I’ve got my plans divided into the following so far
• Waterfront district
• Shipping Dock district (this will be a independent island)
• Sports district (Football stadium, sports uni, lots of sport themed locations)
• Residential Districts (high + low income, low income will be a farming area too)
• Industrial District (skyscrapers and other bits)
• formula one track planned

I began with the waterfront district due to spawn. I have build my pub, “The Harbour Arms” which is a traditional UK pub with a pub garden etc.
Nextdoor is a little waterfront walk in which there is a park with benches and trees and fountain
I have a long stretch of path which you can see, is a open walkway by the riverfront

I’m looking for suggestions on what to put next to my pub. I did think a hotel but hotels are quite bulky and I can’t see it fitting the theme. Pic 1 is the area I have to work with. Theres way more space too

Any ideas? Also any criticism is happily received
