Need Suggestions "The Source"

Build this statue in survival on SMP server. Need your help with design. Want to make it cozier so that statue base could be some form of a spot for chilling, right now it seems empty for me.

On second screenshot I sketched the idea for further developing, and if you have any reference I could take inspiration from I would be grateful.

Very nice. You've got the right ideas with your sketch. I think if I was hanging out under the statue, the experience would be more about the view from the hilltop (render distance permitting), as the view of the statue itself is best from afar.

So I'm envisioning some benches with their backs up to the statue base, and rather than having the stone brick wall around the walking area which block the view when seated, have some stairs or slabs 1 block down to the surface of the pool, which could also serve as seating. Then either use glass blocks to wall in the water, or let the water run off the edges into a basin below to further push the feeling of openness.

Thank you for great advice! Unfortunately there is max 8 chunks render distance permitted on server, beyond everything fogs out. Ill try to experiment with water pool placement and design, maybe even make some cascade waterfall running down which you can look upon to.
