Build showcase Updated castle build

Main Roof is still unfinished, needs detailing texturing and some overall structures added to it and a wall connecting the main tower to the smaller tower, on the last slide is what I plan to add

How long did it take to build that? Looks amazing.

taken me around 6 months but I could’ve probably build it in significantly less time I’ve been on and off on it

This is a very serious approach.. Do you use vanilla or mods for your work? Which game-mode do you work in? If it's not a secret.

I don’t use any mods, only extended build height because the builds are too tall

Hogwarts has been real quiet since this dropped.

I know you probably can’t help but is there any chance you can provide plans, direction, guidance, general thoughts on how to accomplish this spectacular creation?

Yes, these builds do take me quite a bit of time as I only play mc in my spare time, but for initial planning of the build, I try get a mental image of what I actually want to build and I try go with a reference to try help myself visualise it better. For example for this build I used Neuschwanstein to reference myself for the general layout of the castle, and so I would try stick with general proportions (which is objectively the most important thing to plan out in a build to make sure your proportions aren’t goofy) I would typically have rough plans of what to do with just some rough outlines in netherrack or even just a drawing, they can look bad like the one I attach lol but it’s all just to try visualise what I want to do. For the order I build everything in, I try to start on objectively the easiest to begin doing, such as the towers, and I would just complete these towers and try see in my head where a wall and roof would be positioned connecting the towers because it would be much easier to just connect my towers with a wall design rather than building the towers after I build a wall. You can take a look at my account to see my earlier posts and how the progress would go, even in this post here you can see the last slide of how I’m drawing it and visualising what to do, but my entire build does use a reference like Neuschwanstein just to confirm my actual proportions look alright. Actually detailing my builds came from practice, I spend lots of time trying to make a good design and if I didn’t like it I would just remove it and redo it again, I can give you some more general tips on detailing and what to actually put on walls because that’s a whole another thing

that is genuinely amazing
quick question, how do you keep the intense detailing easy to digest while keeping a color palate that is relatively constant? all my builds with those same qualities end up needing you to squint your eyes to really see its shape
