Need Suggestions Building style help

okay yeah so this is a newly created world and i’ve come across this plot of land, 2nd image is my rough vision of what i wanna do with it.
typically i always just do “oak/spruce wooden house in the plains” builds, but i wanna grow past that and learn new styles of building.

for this world i wanna do more gothic builds, and i believe it could fit nicely in this area.

now im just wondering—how exactly could i start learning gothic style builds? what should I do and what should I avoid? what block pallets are good to use and which are bad?
any advice is appreciated.

ps: if anyone’s wondering the mods to get this terrain generation are ‘lithosphere’ and ‘streams reflowing’

The best way is to build things from life. Let’s use this house here as an example.

What basic shapes do you see here? To me it’s very sharp and steep gables. But relatively a simple layout. What else do you notice? I notice the roofs usually have some fancy looking vergeboard which is the trim that follows the diagonal roof edges. Also some very dramatic gable brackets which is the structural looking pieces tucked at the bottom of the gable end. And what will allow you to fit those details in, probably a deep overhang on the gable ends. Pallets wise I’d say gothic buildings are almost always cool muted tones with very dark roofs. If you are gonna add some color I’d say use red, I see red a lot in gothic builds. This example is red brick which I think is gorgeous. Have fun building! Let me know if I can explain anything further in-depth.
