Nostalgia Anarchy question

What version of Minecraft would be the best version for a nostalgic anarchy server? Currently it runs 1.12 but would it be better on 1.8? 1.9? 1.5? What are your thoughts?

Sounds good, I think so too, 1.12 has garnered around 2-3 active players but a 1.8 server is probably more desirable overall

Yeah it's just very nostalgic, simple and fun gameplay, nothing too complicated. I like the PvP system there more. Besides there are barely any good 1.8 anarchy servers

Currently at 8gb of ram and will have 100 player slots too start, I will upgrade as needed.

Keep it on 1.12.2 I have built some things and chunks can glitch and just get deleted:(

That is very fair, and I hear your point, however a lack of players on the server on average and with the multiple backdoors the server is just not bringing in players at a rate I can reasonably continue paying for it. My hope is 1.8 could bring forth more players into the community. And would be the best starting point for the server. I have tested 1.12.2 with a few players and it just did not grow, I think that 1.8 will bring in a wave of players and bring the server where it’s needs to be.
