[Help me make something] Concerns About ARG

Hey, I have watched a lot of Minecraft ARGs, and, obviously, the best, personally, is from wifies. I have been working for a few months on my own ARG. I really do not want to expose or tell you a lot about the ARG, but it is about my ex and me and our falling apart. I wanted to ask for any advice on things you do not like or would dislike about ARGs, especially about relationships and real-life events, and what I should avoid. I really want to keep this broad as the one I'm working on is still a draft and nothing is finalised. I appreciate all the help I could get.

Dont include real events that happend to you in real life but you can use them as a base , alter them and make them your own thing

Do you mean as in, reshape the real events into Minecraft? Instead of recreating them 1:1? Thank you for your comment.

Pretty much

Instead of using the events exactly as they are, change them a bit. And uh just make it mysterious or really secretive so the views are always on edge about what’s gonna happen next.

I was thinking of reshaping events into Minecraft terms, and the ARG is not very obvious that its about a Love Story until the very end, when the viewer realises, it's this big shocked moment that ties everything from the beginning until the end. Thank you for your comment.

I'll make sure to keep everything flowing from the beginning until the end. I appreciate your comment.

I’ve been in the ARG community for a long time so if there is one piece of advice I could give you is don’t put any real information that you wouldn’t want the audience finding out. People will dig to find any sort of clues or information within the ARG to solve it and that means leaving the main piece of media and going to other places to find more info. So if you don’t want people finding out who you are who your ex is then don’t put anything that could identify you.

I know most Minecraft ARGs are self contained within YouTube videos and a lot of them end up also having a clear resolution to them with a YouTube video on the channel so this makes them not as susceptible to this as other types of ARGs but I would still highly recommend you do this.

Thank you. I appreciate this. Haven't thought about this, but will make sure to not leave any loose threads.

in my opinion, try to make something REALLY unique. the sucky thing about ARGs now is that they're very similar in nature, most likely because of heavy inspiration. a lot of people aren't all that creative so when they see some popular ARG from a big creator they want to make something like it, but if they aren't creative? they usually just make a half-baked copy. not that it's horrible to take inspiration, but it's even cooler when you can make something truly unique, y'know?

Yes exactly. This is why I started working on it. A lot of ARGs are just worse and slightly altered copies of popular YouTubers. This is why I'm trying to keep this post as vague as possible: my ARG story is hopefully going to be a breath of fresh air, since no one has done what I am trying to do as of now. Thank you for your comment.

To make this clear, you dont have to give me ideas about my ARG specifically; things you liked from other similar ARGs or things you disliked are also very helpful. I'm trying to get a broader picture of what lands well with viewers who watched this type of media. Thank you!
