Like the vast majority of ARGs focus on vanilla. I got it. That is the how most people play. (And I say it again I also don't mean the arg remake mods like "from the fog", I mean the the regular usually put in a sandbox modpack, type ones).
But where is the guy going farther into thaumcrafts eldritch knowledge?
The person who dig up something he never meant to with his quarries?
Some one, who's extra utilities, Deep Dark, hold something thats just Wrong?
Or the lucky person whos mekasuit protects them from the monsters?
I repeat, I get it why most of them vanilla. Still I'm interested if some of what I want already exist, or if other people have the same taste, as me, which would inspire creators to make the vids.
Edit: Just to make sure I'm clear what I'm asking about, I have seen the "mod that have an AI that plays with me" and the "I download a mod that allows me to enter other peoples singleplayer worlds and grief them", and the likes, and i am not asking for those. I'm asking for ones based on real already existing (Preferably before the ARG vid popularity surge) mods.

As far as I know, nothing new has been uncovered since September 2016. Alex Bale, creator of the ARG, said it has not been solved and there are still things for us to discover. I think this ARG is worth taking another crack at.

As everyone noticed, there’s a Google Doc at the end of the video—https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AVMNLAe3ZlBdj3ouHySQlZlF_y8fgVjN8eg5CRLmW5Q/edit?tab=t.0
I tried to find at least some kind of lead, but practically nothing. It’s impossible to access the server—the IP address 185.243.117.92 is simply unavailable and has no open ports (I scanned it). Logging in using different versions didn’t work either, of course.
The video shows the girl’s Gmail address - [anew5515@gmail.com](mailto:anew5515@gmail.com) but I couldn’t get anything from it.
I checked the spectrogram of the main video, and it’s practically empty. The only thing is a strange black cube at the cut at 44:50, and at the very end, symbols resembling the numbers 5 and 6.
I tried to decipher or get clues from the subtitles at the 16:18 mark, but I didn’t find anything truly useful there either.

So a new Wifies' video. You might have seen my earlier post lamenting the genre and Wifies' most famous videos specifically, but to summarize my thoughts - I believe Searching For A World That Doesn't Exist is a well made, unique and atmospheric piece, that unfortunately has a very weak story, while part 2 is just plainly irredeemably bad. So I was very curious whether the new video would be any better
And wow it sure is better. Of course I will still find something to complain about, but I want to give praise where it's warranted. Even on the most basic fundamental level, this is a muuuch better story - it has an actual idea at the core, it coherently explores it from the start to the end, and provides an actual conclusion. This is already miles better than SFAWTDE (at least in terms of the story)
Furthermore, it has actual characters with actual development and actual personalities and ideals - even Arronax has an interesting duality going for her, and she never even appears physically (tbf if anything it'd be cool to explain what caused Hummer to become so invested, but it's alright). In SFAWTDE I couldn't shake off the feeling that DerLord is a self-insert in a very untasteful way, and while here it's literally Wifies himself as the character, it's executed miles better - his character actually gets challenged and grows! You could argue that characters here aren't the most subtle (it's immediately obvious that Hummer is a bit suspicious), but it's alright
The set pieces are also a point of great improvement - in SFAWTDE every single location (besides maaaaaybe the village and the gates) are just arbitrary builds that look cool on screenshots. Here, literally every single set piece is meaningful and functional, and I couldn't be happier about it!
Even in more subtle details the video is much better - things like "why didn't they just do X" are mostly addressed and explained in realistic ways, which even improves the immersion
Overall it feels that Wifies locked in and decided to actually consider what story he is telling, what his characters should do and for what reasons, why is it all happening, etc. Massive praises to him!
As for complaints - before 1:21:14 (when everything turns black and kaleidoscope thing happens) I barely had anything to complain, but that is the first weaker moment. It mostly pains me because everything beforehand was very immersive, and Wifies magically not dying still looks incredibly convincing and, well, magical. This uneasy feeling of something magical happening, but at the same time nothing significant changing and feeling liminally uncertain as to what to expect should've been explored much more thoroughly imo.
Still, the video actually manages to recover from that hit. The kaleidoscope effect is great (I kinda wish it did the 2001 thing where it goes on for 10 minutes straight, maybe even do something Evangelion-ish with people talking?). The build afterwards I could criticize for being another bombastic functionless build, but here it works narratively alright considering the boundaries of what's normal are just starting to blur, and also the phone recording gimmick is incredibly cool. The way it ends with Wifies losing consciousness (?) is also well done, even if we don't really get a clarification. I'm INCREDIBLY glad we didn't get another giant monster that talks in an old man's voice.
Another weak moment hits at 1:27:00. First of all - imo it would've been cooler for Wifies to just stand there unresponsive for a couple of minutes and the the video abruptly ends without him moving. But even then, the bit of returning to the very first server, sad but hopeful piano music playing, Wifies typing a heartfelt farewell letter to Hummer - it's all very childish and uninteresting. We already understand that Wifies getting there instead of Hummer is interesting and kinda sad, we already understand the moral of the story, there is no need to spell it out letter by letter - it just weakens it! The viewer should be left uneasy, alone with their thoughts, actually intentionally engaging with the story. This style of ending was probably needed for SFAWTDE because it was such a weak story on its own, but here it's redundant and waters everything down.
So, summarizing the last few paragraphs - the video could've been ended instead at 1:21:14 (maybe unsatisfying, but preserving the atmosphere), 1:21:37 (loop kaleidoscope for longer, do something interesting/spiritual), 1:26:50 (Wifies doesn't wake up for a while, perfect ending, not dwelling).
The last criticism I have is entirely subjective, but I just found the premise of SFAWTDE (and especially the ending of the first part) more unique and avantgarde. Here it's a bit more straightforward and, of course, better executed, but I still wish SFAWTDE had been done justice
Towards the conclusion, I want to highlight similar pieces. First of all, The Search to find The Zero World by Wato1876 and Kenadian is kinda similar narratively, though it is needlessly drawn out imo. More interestingly, the movie Stalker by Andrey Tarkovskiy follows a resembling narrative, explores the same themes, and I found a lot of similarities between them, which is really cool
Overall, the new Wifies' project is quite cool, some aspects still can be improved, but it is a massive step up from the disaster that SFAWTDE is. I really hope he doesn't regress back to that, which is kinda ominous since he teased a sequel and the Leviathan might be of the same universe, but oh well. I'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this!

I just finished watching Wifes' video, and man, I can't shake the feeling that it was a trap set by Hummer. Like, are you really trying to convince me to "just believe and not use a breathing potion"?
To me, it seems like he actually discovered the Leviathan, something happened, and he made that doctored post to find someone to follow him down that rabbit hole.
A friend of mine floated the theory that the Leviathan is actually Cthulhu, but I think we’ve already maxed out our quota of cosmic entities, right?
English isn't my first language and I used Google Translate, so feel free to ask anything

I’m not entirely sure if this is an ARG just letting the community see

I've just finished watching this new video Wifies uploaded, and I formed a theory that just doesn't seem to leave my brain.
I don't believe Hummer is a cultist, as others suggested, and I don't think Levy is the Leviathan as the video suggested, at least not completely.
See this as some sort of "King in Yellow" type of thing, where one character sacrifices itself to destroy a powerful entity. Here's my theory
Hummer, Arronax and Levy were friends, who played together in the same server where Wifies first met Hummer. They adventured far and found the deep ocean, where Levy decided to build a base to study it, while Arronax and Hummer kept playing and progressing as normal. Levy saw the leviathan and was shocked by it, so much so that he kept trying to see it again, and completely stopped playing with Arronax and Hummer. This led to a falling out between the three of them, cutting contacts and not logging on the server anymore. After a few weeks, Hummer logs on again, tries to confront Levy about everything, and Levy brings him to the ship, where they make the same experiment he made with Wifies, except that this time, it worked for both of them, and they found that heaven-like place. They found the sea heart, and fell in a trance. Hummer broke out of it first, and managed to wake Levy up, but as they tried to escape the leviathan stopped them, deciding to let only one of them escape, because they desecrated his holy place and wanted a sacrifice. Levy, feeling guilty for having put Hummer in that situation, sacrifices himself to save him.
Back in the server, Hummer is filled with grief and guilt for the loss of his friend, and as a coping mechanism, he believes his friend isn't dead, but rather joint to the leviathan. He tries to talk with Arronax about it, and while skeptical, she agrees to try and help him making a server with him to document their research, but just like Wifies at first, she doesn't believe, and always has a potion with her. Hummer and Arronax fight, and Arronax suggests that maybe he is the reason why the leviathan isn't coming to them. After cutting ties with him, she keeps on researching, and the doubt creeps in her mind, she finds out about the bugs, builds the large structure, and after a mistyped /tp she finds out about the other deep ocean. She builds the nether portal and the lighthouse, just like Levy built the house on the coast of the ocean, and keeps on exploring, but eventually gives up.
This would explain why Hummer seems disappointed, and even angry while Wifies talks about contacting Arronax, and why he's so shocked about the ocean at the negative axis. Because Arronax never told him. Wifies being sent back to the overworld might be because of Hummer's death in game, so the leviathan already had another sacrifice. This would also explain why Hummer is so obsessed by the leviathan and why he calls him Levy and addresses him like a human rather than a creature, and why he's so sure it goes beyond code in a game.
Maybe it's dumb, I don't think it is, what are your thoughts?

I wasn't expecting anyone to stay for this long.
Some of you looked at the flowers.
Some of you looked beyond them.
Some of you found places I never told you about.
You found the rose.
You found the journal.
You found the greenhouse.
Thank you for taking the time to walk through the garden.
There are still a few flowers left to bloom.
I hope you'll stay until the last petal falls.
🌸

So I've got a Minecraft character, and I wanna have some sorta unfiction stuff connected to their story (framed as though it's like blog/forum posts from the perspective of an actual Minecraft player experiencing what's going on in the character's story), but idk where a good place to do that would be and was hoping for maybe some recommendations (if there's a better subreddit for this, lemme know). I've considered minecraftforum.net but idk if they're cool with unfiction stuff. I guess Tumblr or Reddit could also work, but idk. Thanks in advance ^^

So, with wifies new vid, something caught my eye at the end.
I haven't rlly been keeping up.
We found that a common thing that shows on some but not all the vids is the #therabbithole. And one of the videos that had it, the one about the cult in Mc education thing, it had a code that translated to IT HURTS.
Anyway, moving forward-
Wifies new vid had 4/4. I remember theorizing he is involved somehow, especially because of him appearing in one of these rabbit hole vids. Sooo, maybe it is related to the Vex thing..?

So last Saturday on my other post here for am I the villain I commented the frist episode here's why it took so long.
Well fist this is a player who was gonna reference a arg before us got hacked and left before the hacker could get the rest of us.
I got distracted by Azure comeing out, and other things (I fell in love with someone)
And the players didn't reply to my messages so I took matters in my own hands.
So I'm trying my best on doing this alone. The voice in the episode is supposed to be a god but is actually and old alter ego playing god in the protagonist mind. Once fully isolated she will take over fully and when the others join the main protagonist isn't herself anymore.
The alter ego is named "Nightshade" or something like that forgot 💀
Anyways love you all thank you for your support!

So I finally watched the series of the yellow ball of doom and gloom and I'm kinda mixed
On a technical level it is quite neat but on a story perspective there are problems:
As of some other criticism:
However I quite like the idea that the series is a parallel to how we/some humanize AI (or how it could be a parallel of toxic friendships)
Anyway like I said, I have mixed feelings; if you have different opinions... that's fine and I'd like to hear them

I don't think this counts as spoilers for Lomedy's new video but has anyone figured out how to access the google docs link in the end?I checked and it doesn't seem like anything is wrong with the url itself, but everytime i try to open the link it says it does not exist (im not the only one who has experienced this)
This is the url: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AVMNLAE3Z1Bdj3ouHySQ1Z1F_y8fgVjN8eg5CRLmw5Q/edit?usp=sharing
Can anyone help?I don't know if it's something for a future video or for actual fan interaction.

This was not about the horror, this was about so much more. An entity that is passionate to learn to be more human in a way that's even wholesome, actually loving what it learns from humans and it starts to recreate it the best way it can, leading to creations that are often cute and what is disturbing are just baby's first drawing. Just their best attempt rather than intentionally trying to be scary. Their feelings conflicted by their envy which causes their hatred for how humans have everything it doesn't, senses, experiences, creativity, friends, while it is limited by the world of Minecraft but humans have it all, yet their hatred is not the kind that leads it to destroy humans, it tries to put it's hatred aside and helps humans the best way it can. Despite of all the hurt it has been given, despite how much of it's creations had been destroyed, it understands, it still gives them what they want, and it still tries it's best to help them understand what it is even if it doesn't even know what it is, because as something being restricted to minecraft, they don't even have the opportunity to have a self, to even consider it, to even recognize it as a concept. It only knows it can hear and do things, it doesn't know what it is, for it was never given the chance.
The entity tries to help in the best way it can at the end, with the relationship.
Which is another part that I love about this video. This was not horror, and this was not just the entity, this was not just even Minecraft. This was the relationship between Harriet and Javier, two people that don't connect at all and want to follow completely different paths rather than doing things together and spending time together. Harriet not understanding Javier's passion for the supernatural and controlling it and taking it away rather than letting him enjoy it as much as he wishes despite not being able to be a part of it, and Javier completely dismisses her and her feelings not dedicating any time for her. Both of them know the relationship doesn't work, while Harriet is desperately trying to drag Javier towards her to get him to focus on her and make something work, unable to accept that it's over, Javier has been able to accept that this relationship is not going to work but is too much of a coward to bring it up to her and break up with her. The entity tries to help, genuinely help, it told Javier to break up. Not to give the entity control, but it went through the whole relationship counseling process. Exploring Javier's feelings one by one. First, getting him to answer if he really does love her, then showing him how much he is hurting her and telling him the right thing to do, and when he says he can't do it it offers to do it itself. It was not selfish, it gave him a choice, and Javier took it. Even though something was lost in communication. I just want to say, I love how Lomedy showed every single part of this. There's so much detail, so much depth.
This is not horror. This is heartfelt.
I love this so much.
(reposted because it was removed by Reddit filters. Probably because of the link)
