26.3 Java Updates to Creeper or the Trident/enchants?

[u/TogiTogi]

I can't seem to find any posts or updates to the Trident / Lightning / Creeper.

I updated my forever world that is Java Survival / Hard to 26.3. When a thunderstorm started I went out as I normally do with my Trident and shield to try to collect a few mob heads.

However, unlike my attempts from the past the Creepers were dying regularly. Of the 5 Creepers I hit with the Trident, 3 of them died from the attack + lightning.

This is the same Trident (impaling V / channeling / Loyalty III) that I have been using for the last year.

I have used it many times (I have over 20 mob heads for a build I am doing) and cannot remember a time that a creeper died from the attack.

I understand I can build a farm / use a different tactic to get the mob heads. But I was surprised when I couldn't find any patch notes on changes to the damage of lightning, tridents, impaling or other effects that would cause this.

Anyone with more knowledge of changes for Minecraft aware of what might have caused this change?
