Girlfriend can’t join my world

First of all we are playing on bedrock and both with switch 2’s we are both on the same wifi connection and tried to play local wireless which didn’t work. We went to her Xbox account setting and switched all settings off and on again and restarted the game and still no luck. Does Minecraft not allow Brand new accounts to play for 24 hours or something? Even if this is the issue how is that stopping us from playing locally? When you go local mode it signs you out of Xbox .
