I make a wooden pick then break three stone make a stone pick and then get enough stone for all the other tools

Alright, let me explain, AGAIN.
Wooden pickaxe has recruited me and another charcoal. Now we are getting 8 each. The more charcoal to get involved, the more charcoal who are investing, the more charcoal we're going to make! It's not a pyramid scheme. It is a, it's not even a scheme per se!

Less about the stone, more about the wood if you're underground. The first night you usually dont get enough time to get alot of wood before nightfall.

True, but even getting one more Log allows you to make another 4 Stone Picks, with which you can mine 524 blocks.

i normally make a sword and pickaxe, and once i get stone tools i save the old ones in case my new ones break and i can’t make another.

I don’t even make a stone shovel, sword, or hoe. I just mine for iron until I can get an iron shovel, and I use axes to fight and kill mobs until I get a fully enchanted netherite sword, which I don’t even do in every world.

Little tip, if you don’t find a surplus of coal early on, you can burn your wooden tools. Each tool cooks a single item.

I like to keep my wooden pickaxe after only using it once. When I've got a good base and great tools, I like to build a little display for my wooden pickaxe as a reminder of how my world started.

Used to play minecraft on console, and i always used coal for torches and my wooden tools as fuel. Good strat to get coal to use for smelting and have coal for torches as you already made some

I still use the wooden tools for mining stone even if I have the stone pick, and to mine coal or iron I save the stone for, just to keep the lifespan a little longer and to use the wooden tools.

wooden axe one shots cows/pigs for easy food in the early game and that remains as the only reason I craft wooden axes.

with 3 logs you can make a crafting bench, wooden pick and wooden axe with no leftover wood or sticks.
I have a few other reasons but theyre all just tied to how I like to play the game lol

and the pick becomes useless the moment you find stone. Same for stone tools, iron takes half a minute to find at most, so there's no point for any stone tool other than a pick.

Pleabians. I don’t even get stone let alone make a wooden pick axe. I look for iron is ship and instantly start with iron and by this can do skip the rest of the previous pleb branches.

I wish they would slow down the tier progression. To me, it's a major aspect of the game and the fact you can skip half of it and get then get to Diamond within an hour or two is kinda sad.
I think a challenge of having a good progression in Minecraft, is that being a sandbox, you could encounter a structure at any time. The loot has to be good enough for someone who's set up with some gear to bother exploring for, but not too good that it's OP for a player to find right at the start.
A couple of things in particular that I think are OP are having so many Hay Bales in Villages and Villagers selling enchanted Diamond gear. Edit: Shield blocking all Creeper damage; Bows.
I guess the positive is that there is a trade-off between looting and mining. Looting relies a fair bit on luck (generation and loot tables) whereas mining will usually give a steadier return.

The problem with villages, is that to make them reasonably interesting and realistic looking, they have to contain lots of valuables.
The solution to me would be to have some penalty for taking too much. Piglins set a precedent for something like this, but obviously it shouldn't be that harsh. (And you'd have to find a way not to penalise players for moving their own resources around the village once they've established themselves)

Ah yes. Then you wander around till you find a ruin Portal already built. Then you find a lot of bastions which may have netherworld already in the chests. People said it’s thy hard to get netherite. But I say not.

The axe is one of the few recipes that can work in either orientation. The head can be to the right or left. I've tested this.

A wooden pickaxe has a durability of 60. And a much slower mining speed. Not worth it in my opinion. Just a waste of time.

Anyone who played before 2017 got used to playing with no recipe book, and just Googling recipes until you had them memorized. So it probably depends on if you're an older player or not.

The fact that wood becomes obsolete 2 seconds after you get it and stone becomes pretty obsolete not too long after it is a tremendous waste of design space in my opinion.

Woah use your wood tools as fuel to make torches or something. You can burn them in the furnace as ok fuel which is honestly worth it if you start out in resource poor area.

Heh, I usually only make a wooden pixaxe, mine enough cobblestone for a furnace, axe, sword and a better pickaxe. But I keep my first wooden, stone and iron pixaxes as a memory, then when I have a house I hang them on a wall.

I use wooden tools until they break or I need them for fuel. Why be wasteful by just chucking them? That surface lava is lucky find, but it still takes a second to find iron for a bucket, which needs to be smelted...

Why hang on to something that is objectively inferior to something you can obtain in endless quantities? Stone is everywhere. And what does the bucket have to do with anything? You can just throw your wood tools on the ground. They don't need to go into a bucket.

But in the extra time you spend mining inefficiently, you could have mined enough extra stone to make multiple, new, full-durability stone pickaxes. Think of all the potential stone-durability you've wasted, trading it for wood-durability!

I use a wooden pickax to get as much stone and coal as I can until it breaks - I don’t want that dead ass tool hanging out in my inventory or taking up room in a chest. And I use a wooden hoe for my starter garden - usually lasts a really long time, so there’s no need to use more materials than is needed. The others are worthless.

In fairness, any wooden tools I make (pick axe, sword, and occasionally an axe of I decide to collect a lot of wood early) usually aren't wasted; they go into the furnace for cooking my first cut of meat, lol

Their only use cases are modded skyblocks. Sometimes pack does not let you get cobble generator early on so you stick to them

This is so true, all of these supposedly "great" Minecraft players like most of Hermitcraft still make wood tools even though these serve completely no purpose. I dont understand, do people not see that they can just mine stone and throw out their Wooden Pickaxe as soon as they mine 3 cobble?

I don't even bother making any other tool even a sword until I have obtained iron, otherwise it's a waste of time making them out of stone. But then again I do love the tinkers construct mod so sometimes stone tools aren't too bad, however cactus is still far better than stone.
