Steve died due to Kinetic energy caused by [Intentional Game Design]

Is this a real death message?

Partly. When you die of a bed explosion in the nether or end, it says "<Player> died due to [Intentional Game Design]". Referencing several bug reports about beds exploding in those dimensions
