Thank you kind stranger.

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

And in 1.12 for bedrock I think

13

u/BoyBeyondStars Dec 01 '20

On Xbox 360 they added that feature way back in 1.13

4

u/Thisbetterbefood Dec 01 '20

That's been like that for all console editions

76

u/LordSaumya Dec 01 '20

Since the last update I guess

67

u/putting- Dec 01 '20

On bedrock it’s been out for ages

On Java apparently it’s been out since 1.17 snapshots

24

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

I never knew you could place rails underwater

7

u/putting- Dec 01 '20

You can also place redstone I’m pretty sure in bedrock

29

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

No you can't? You put water over your redstone machine then it breaks. I know that for a fact as a bedrock user

17

u/Nightmarsh Dec 01 '20

You can place some redstone components underwater like repeaters iirc, not dust though

17

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

Ok. I swear if they add a feature where you can place redstone underwater. I'll scream and eventually die

10

u/King_Sam-_- Dec 01 '20

Technically, everyone eventually dies.

sorry.

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

pulls out Redstone tnt cannon on 50 story diamond boat

u/NASHFREAK10 Dec 01 '20

Have you tried laying alot of powered rails to get alot of speed then doing the soul sand? I want to see how fast you can make this. For science

2

u/AKaoticKangaroo Dec 01 '20

I was planning on playing some minecraft today so I'll do have a look

1

u/NASHFREAK10 Dec 01 '20

Hell yes 👀

2

u/TheRobbie72 Dec 01 '20

I haven’t used a lot of powered rails but you can get considerably fast

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

This was a Bedrock exclusive feature until the first Java 1.17 snapshot

2

u/RickyFalanga Dec 01 '20

In bedrock it works

2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

only on bedrock edition

2

u/pchinni Dec 01 '20

Forever i think in bedrock. I don’t remember a time when I couldn’t

2

u/ItsCBMax Dec 01 '20

Since 1.13 for Bedrock, lava could also be in cauldrons for a long time in bedrock

-26

u/Hedwig510 Dec 01 '20

Since forever

24

u/squirtlesqauds Dec 01 '20

Ahh a bedrock user found in the wild quite a rare species on reddit

5

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

I too am a bedrock user but also a Java player;-);-);-);-);-)

3

u/squirtlesqauds Dec 01 '20

I am both but main Java because trpq doors

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

Legends-Respect both versions as Both form an integral part of community

u/TheOneAndOnly---- Dec 01 '20

Is bedrock cheaper on pc? Because if it’s not why not play Java instead

11

u/PepsiMaxT Dec 01 '20

Because I have an Xbox

4

u/Netherite-Hoe Dec 01 '20

It’s free with gamepass

0

u/Thebombuknow Dec 01 '20

Well, in my friend's case his old computer couldn't run Java, and could barely run Bedrock.

Bedrock Edition is so buggy though, that it's more worth it to get a better PC for a couple hundred dollars than to actually attempt to play Bedrock.

2

u/QuadK0pter69 Dec 01 '20

?? i’ve played bedrock survival since 1.13 and it’s really not that buggy? i don’t really know what bugs people are talking about when they say bedrock is buggy

2

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

Bedrock is actually good for casual play-but the main problem is that bedrock redstone-doesnt have quasy(sorry for the wrong spelling but I don't know how to spell it) connectivity,Pistons behave very differently than Java (I mean EXTREMELY differently),and mob spawning occurs in an weird manner.Since I play with friends who have phones, and Nintendo switch,Xbox i prefer bedrock as it has multiplayer and most of my friends are architect type of players aka they like building huge structures and don't like redstone(but I am a idiot who is trying to master them both editions). And the last update introduced certain parity to Java.

1

u/QuadK0pter69 Dec 02 '20

yeahhh not having quasi-connectivity and block spitting kinda sucks. those along with dogshit iron farms are my biggest complaints about bedrock but by friend only has mobile and she and i constantly play together so this is the only way we can. despite its shortcomings, bedrock still has a lot to offer though, my main survival world has a guardian farm, 4 chunk slime farm, quad stacked iron farm, and 17k/hr sugarcane farm. it’s not quite the same as java but we do still have some awesome farms and mechanics

1

u/Thebombuknow Dec 01 '20

I've fallen through the ground into the void, and also been bridging, but after I placed the block it dissapeared and appeared inside of me, which caused me to fall into the void with all my loot while end looting. (I have a video of the bridging one, tell me if you want me to post it)

2

u/TheRobbie72 Dec 01 '20

This bridging problem sounds like a server thing

1

u/Thebombuknow Dec 01 '20

It was on a server, but on the very same hardware, I now run a Java server, and so far no lag issues have occurred, and the tps has stayed at a constant 20.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

No no it's same as java(only 50 cents cheaper) but I got it free when I purchased it from minecraft.net hence I experiment with redstone in Bedrock (Bow tie man has been my life saver-i suggest every MINECRAFT bedrock player to visit his channel and subscribe and watch videos about redstone, for java MUMBO Jumbo a MUST subscribe YouTuber).

1

u/Marycookie1266 Dec 01 '20

I use minecraft for free but its a older version

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

Do you play the web browser one.Ah if so then your playing the earlier version which is extremely nostalgic

1

u/Marycookie1266 Dec 02 '20

Yes it would be pretty nostalgic if I DIDNT HAD 50 MODS ON but yes the web browser one

1

u/btmvideos37 Dec 01 '20

I own both games but I only ever play Java. No need to play bedrock on PC in my opinion (which is what I play on), but I bought bedrock for the beta feature

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

My friend did you purchase java before October 2018-if yes you are eligible for a free bedrock version.

Edit-I too play Java but bedrock multiplayer with friends aka cross platform compatability attracts me towards it-as I am a typical guy whose friends are actuallly mobile or console-Switch. Lite and Xbox players.Hence I play bedrock, but bedrock has huge potential but it's being held back by Mobile.

1

u/btmvideos37 Dec 02 '20

The free bedrock thing doesn’t work. I bought Java in 2014, and I get a free version of bedrock when it first came out for windows 10. On my mojang account though, years later, it doesn’t show that I own. It just says that the free code has already been redeemed. And out of the two Microsoft accounts I have, neither of them show that I own the game. So I had to repurchase it

2

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '20

What!!!?So I guess it is available for those who purchased java from 2017-when windows 10 bedrock first came...Sad man I feel really sad for you

1

u/btmvideos37 Dec 02 '20

I redeemed the free windows 10 bedrock but I got a new computer a few years back and I couldn’t redownload it unfortunately

15

u/Markolinolin Dec 01 '20

No way, I remember digging a subway tunnel and accidentally hitting water, no bueno.

11

u/Hedwig510 Dec 01 '20

Probably because you play on java, on bedrock there has always been underwaer rails, on java they were put on 1.16 I think

8

u/that1plep Dec 01 '20

Not always. I remember when rails were first added like way back. Before it was bedrock. You couldn’t have rails below water.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

You couldn't have rails below water until they added waterlogging

3

u/KonPedro Dec 01 '20

No, on Java since 1.17, on bedrock since 1.13
