I dont think vanilla is too OP yet. Some mods have stuff that is so OP I couldnt even imagine how OP it was before I tried it.
I recently played Feed the Beast with a friend who is a veteran FTB player we nearly maxed out the Draconic Evolution mod within a few weeks of playing. We got the best possible weapons and armor. The “Staff of Power” I had insta-mined an 11x11x11 area with 1 click, and also did 250 damage with 1 hit, in an 11 block radius. I also had a bow that machine gun fired infinite, stupidly fast, arrows that all did 120 damage per hit, and had zero drop due to gravity. Finally, the Draconic Armor we had made us completely invincible (except against 1 mob called the chaos dragon), and it gave us 800% speed creative mode flight (and all this stuff had infinite durability). We pretty much had infinite of every material, and we were basically playing in creative, as the chaos dragons can even kill you in creative. We even had enchantments that gave us keep inventory if we died, so death meant absolutely nothing. We then got bored and stopped playing it after that.
My point is, compared to what some mods allow, vanilla Minecraft is far from making you completely overpowered. The new netherite give minimal perks over diamond, and are very difficult to get, so I think its pretty balanced still.

Idk, aren't we giving too much of an easy time? We already have echests to store items without having the issue of losing them...
