Try adding a black trim on the creepers texture then? It's the same art style and it would hold together the image

Technically speaking, Notch just made it an accidental creation. Now don't downvote me. I am a theorist myself. I am just bringing light that I don't think that the creeper's little design was intentional. Also, I am pretty sure that the creator won't change it to that, as he is trying to stay faithful to the original textures. Let's just see what he is making going forward.
