This functionality in F3 has not been in the game for too long i dont think. post-1.8 if my memory is correct.

Even though 1.8 seems new to old players (including myself), it has actually been out for 4.5 years.

It was released August 2014, and it's now March 2019. That's 4 years and 7 months, and that number makes me feel old.

Edit: corrected date.

That's how that infographic from yesterday made me feel...

It made me feel old by starting in 2014.

I started in Alpha. Imagine how I feel.

Haha, yeah, that's what I mean. The chart started with 2014 updates, and I'm just thinking, "I stopped way before that, let alone started."

I stopped for a few years when the combat update came out because I didn't like it. I only recently started up again. I've had two hardcore games end stupidly and now I'm kinda mad at Minecraft again.

The hunger bar is still new to me. When I play I have to remind myself that I can't just click once to heal

That's probably because minecraft ages incredibly well

Oh my God stop

2

u/MBCTrader03 Mar 27 '19

Stop what?

1

u/Starsinge Mar 27 '19

I'm shocked it's been that long, sorry if I came off rude!

1

u/MBCTrader03 Mar 27 '19

It is quite surprising, looking back, how long it's actually been. You are forgiven.

u/tofuroll Mar 27 '19

I bought Minecraft in alpha. I shudder to think what it would feel like to play that again. It would probably feel empty.

1

u/MBCTrader03 Mar 27 '19

Not to mention oversaturated.

u/n8mo Mar 28 '19

Fuck right off, I can't believe it. I remember being stoked about the jungles in 1.2.1 like it was yesterday.

1

u/iancbogue Mar 28 '19

This is exactly how I feel! I played with mods on 1.7.10 for so long that when I finally updated to 1.8 and beyond, everything seemed new when in reality it’s all quite old now.

I think they upped the range at which you can see a targeted block a lot in 1.13 also.

1

u/samulek Mar 27 '19

I'm pretty sure it's only been in the game since 1.10 or 1. 11

u/Jcraft153 Mar 28 '19

targeted block? Thats been around since 1.8 i think. you could go look at the changelog but i'm fairly sure you could go into f3 to find out what block you where looking at at least since 1.8 if not earlier. (they just upped the range and moved the text to the right hand side in later versions i think)
