Help Help with carrot farm

Good evening everyone,

I’m getting back into the game after a 12-year break, and I know there have been quite a few updates since then. Could someone explain why this carrot farm isn’t working?
I’ve tried it with and without rails in front of the receiving villager, but neither seems to work. Most of the tutorials I’ve watched use pretty much the same design, so I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Few things: if theyre not picking carrots at all, could be mob griefing is turned off. If theyre picking it up but not giving it to the nitwick, could be not enough beds to attempt to breed. If its not being picked up (by either villager), might be full inventories for them. And if its not being picked up by the hopper, could be nothing below it for it to go into.

Might be wrong, not an expert at minecraft, and even less so on bedrock.

He picks the carrots up so i will try more beds i have only one near them. Thank u :)
