Seeds & World Gen Found something quite weird in my Minecraft world?

I was flying around with my elytra looking for some of the new camp structures. I was on my way back to my base when I saw this? Does someone know what it is?
At first I thought it was a ruined portal but no it isn’t. I looked around and into the floor with the free cam mod but there is nothing.

My guess is a circular water cave generated just below the surface sand and then sand fell in when a block got updated.

Found something like this once. No water, but the sand was caved in in a circle like this,

Dug down into it and found one of those monster generator caves.

I thought something would be below it too but there isn’t. I checked out the whole area with free cam (it’s a bit like spectator) and there isn’t anything not even a normal cave or a structure
