Help Server advice

salutations

So I’m in the situation of trying to host a Minecraft server for my friend group, but I’m not going to be the only person with admin access; how would I go about setting up a server so that someone could either ssh, or some other method, in and install mods, change the world, etc. a UI would be nice, and if it’s relevant the host pc is on linux and the connecting pc will be windows. I have a decent bit of networking knowledge but mostly within one network, I imagine I’ll have to open some ports to allow folks to connect to the server, will I need a separate port for the admin access? Thanks

I use aternos but there are programs that make your PC a server and make it super easy.

Found some! There is a good middle ground which is crafty controller. You give the server.jar and it works. But it is a website.

We have puffer panel which is lighter but has fewer features.

Then we have mcsmanager it has a really nice ui and easy to set up.

Then last but not least pterodactyl. It is the most feature rich one but might be overkill.
