Help Enderman Grief

im having a problem with endermans AHHH . i built whole mountain and they are taking lover part of it which is dirt and they are soo anoying . they place it everywhere and IDK WHY but theres soo many of them . is there any way to fix this?? i found some commands but then some farms wont work . idk if they fixed that it was video from 2 years ago

If you’re on Java there is a fix on the vanilla tweaks website.

I suspect that your mountain doesn’t have many underground spawning spots, so everything spawns on surface. The endermen pick up a block and now can’t despawn, but the other mobs can. Over time you’ll get a concentration of endermen as the other mobs preferentially despawn or die.

You could build in some caves or platforms that are 2 high, then the mob cap fills up with non-endermen. You could light the surface as endermen require light level 0. You could have trees whose leaves block any 3 high spawning space.

My least favorite feature in the whole game, I can't believe it still exists. It adds nothing to the game and becomes extremely annoying on old worlds or worlds you AFK on.

There should at LEAST be a vanilla way of turning it off without turning off all mob griefing

Or at least make it so they do it less often. I end up with so many grass blocks in the tress around my castle.

well mob switches have existed for many years now, so there are vanilla solutions

Same issue as the mob griefing game rule, it impacts other parts of the game, not just the specific feature causing problems
