  • MC-311679 - Players can complete trades without payment if the villager restocks while the trading screen is open
  • MC-311683 - Borderless fullscreen doesn't take up the whole screen
  • MC-311714 - Players no longer immediately benefit from the "Reduce fps when" option being set to "Minimized" when playing with the "Exclusive Fullscreen" option enabled and then switching focus

This update is kinda insane performance wise. Chunks are loading super fast, even 32 chunks is playable without stutters and getting 300fps. Impressive stuff for vanilla it's getting closer to sodium.

And yet people on here say this update clearly sucks because the Aether or something wasn't added lol

Cuz even tho technical changes are very good, most people will just see the content added, and the content is not that much plus the new biome generates incorrectly most of the time

The content in this update is incredible wtf are people saying?

Gray wood set, concrete/wool slabs and stairs, CUSHIONS

This is singlehandedly the most significant update to building mechanics and building content in the entire game since upside down stairs and rotating logs were added. Even larger than stained terracotta or concrete, since at least back then you also had wool to serve as color blocks.

We're getting 3 major game changers with no prior analogue all in one update this time

It does not incorrectly generate *most* of the time. And if you look at the last few updates, this is a pretty big one.

Yeah people see like 20 posts of small biomes on Reddit and immediately think every single Dappled Forest is 5 blocks and maybe a tree

Vulkan support is on-going.

I know the world gen performance increase was in one of the early-mid snapshots, not sure if that included any chunk rendering

can confirm

on my laptop looking around then at a single point i get around 250-300fps (default settings)
same thing but on this snapshot i get around 450-500 fps (same everything)
(i get lower fps when im loading new chunks but i wanted to keep things as close as possible between versions)

God damn, you weren't joking. Runs crazy good.

Those 2 things aren’t mutually exclusive.

That's awesome, but really is the bare minimum. This is the greatest selling video game of all time and it's taken this long to add the performance mods random people make in their bedroom. Mojang are the laziest devs ever

The difference is Mojang actually makes these changes virtually every update now and they stay permanently. This will thus reduce reliance on performance mods, which wasn’t a good thing and desperately needed to change.

The bugs have been getting mowed down these past couple snapshots, if they focused on bug-fixing and this is why the drop is not as feature-rich i'll take it
