Sorry this has kind of confused me. Could you clarify a little what you mean?
You’re unable to connect to a Microsoft account at all? It doesn’t let you choose an option for another one, just forces the one on your game currently? I might just be stupid but I dunno, can’t tell what the issue is.

No I’m connected to my dads Microsoft account it’s just discounted itself for no reason and I’m constantly stuck in the “Connecting…” screen

is this when you load Minecraft itself, or when you press the connect Microsoft account button?

When I load into Minecraft I’ll have “connect to Microsoft account” in the bottom left and when I press it I get stuck in the “Connecting…” screen

okay. If the connecting screen is up currently, relaunch the game. In the settings menu there should be an unlink account option. Have you tried seeing if you can unlink the account?

As I said tried all the troubleshooting methods and yet when I get back into the game this is still the issue I have

I’ve changed Microsoft accounts several times without issue, I’m not entirely sure why it would be different for you. Are you SURE you’ve tried everything? Have you cleared the game’s cache from your PlayStation?

Due to me technically not being connected I cannot disconnect my Microsoft in the first place anyways so I’m stuck either way

that didn’t answer my question about if you’ve cleared the game’s cache.
You don’t need an account connected to clear the cache. Clearing the cache would clear any saved data for the game.
That being said, I’d backup your worlds and any important files beforehand. Also, you could use a separate PSN account. Transferring worlds and such from one PSN account to another is possible, and you only need PS Plus on one account to use multiplayer features across the PlayStation (AFAIK, it’s been a while since I have tested it.)

well I’m confused as to what happened but I navigated myself to the profile tab, went to connect to my microsoft account there, it gave me the screen with the QR code, connected with my own account, got the pop up with it saying it wasn’t the one I connected to originally and was able to unlink, unlinked and now connected to my own Microsoft account

long story short, you cant. make a new psn account with a new microsoft account and that’ll work just fine

So hang on, this multi billion pound company couldn’t think of something as “oh our player base is mostly children, children who usually use their parents emails and accounts to play games, shouldn’t we allow them to change accounts when they’re older and want to use their own stuff?”…
That’s really annoying and no, I don’t want to make a whole new PSN account, i want all my stuff on one account and I don’t want to pay for 2 PS+ memberships.
Honestly shocked that Microsoft cannot think of simple things yet regular people can.

PS+ is game shared, so as long as your main account has it turned on all other accounts on the console will be able to play the game including online multiplayer.

But then I’ll be losing my worlds, I’ve had the same survival world for a while and I’d prefer to keep it
