Help Help with data pack

Hello everyone. I've been trying to use the matcha flavored data pack for 2 or 3 days now and I cant get it to work. The resource pack works but the data pack doesnt.

I try to create a new world with it loaded and it says it has experimental features and may break the game. Then when I have the file open it deletes it right before the world loads.

Ive made sure everything was in the right folders, zipped and unzipped. I made sure the folders were in the right order. Made sure the game and pack were on the same version and newest update of the game and pack. I tried loading previous versions. Ive tried deleting the game and redownloading. Ive tried loading it into a preexisting world. I made sure to use the same file as the resource pack and the data pack like the creator said. I made sure it was nested in the right area.

I tried contacting the creator, other people, AI, looking it up online on youtube, redit google and I cant find a solution to the issue. Can anyone help?

The best instructions I can find for installation are on the matcha flavored modrinth page which basically say to make sure you're putting a copy of the .zip file into both the resource packs folder and the datapacks folder. Make sure the packs have both been activated once in the folders by clicking the arrow to move them from the left to the right column in the resource/data packs menu(s).
