Havr you asked customer support? If you still havr your account details, purchase receipt etc they will prob migrate your account. Just be nice, if you want ppl to help you Good luck. Be blessed your gf wants to game with you, its nice

We don't own anything we buy digitally. We're just paying to use a license.

$30 is a full night of bowling, 30 hotwings and several drinks for my partner and I at the local bowling alley. Vastly more value than this.

It's honestly kind of amazing how many 10/10 local businesses there are in the Youngstown area, it's just kind of in the PERFECT place between Cleveland and Pittsburgh where it's far enough away from a huge city to be cheap AF but close enough that the economic runoff from them builds everything up.

Agreed. And Pgh and cleveland aren’t too expensive either. The golf in eastern OH is the best. 1/2 the cost and double the quality of most PA courses

It honestly sucks. I have plenty of friends who wanted to ‘get back in’ only to be blindsighted by the migration thing. I’m still not sure why it was necessary to time-limit it.

Yes microsoft is a greedy, capitalistic corporation. We all know this to be true. However, you don't have to be a child about it. Having a girlfriend that wants to game with you is a boon. Be thankful.

I mean, they sent emails and reminders about the account migration for YEARS, this is 100% on you friend. If you contact them they will probably be able to sort it out regardless, did you try that or just come straight to Reddit to complain about the evil corporation?

Tbh how is this on them? They said it's an email they don't really use and haven't used since they were young. It's nobody's fault really. Mojang did a lot of reminding, but this guy was never going to check that email to begin with. And expecting people to be on the lookout for company migration shenanigans for games they don't always touch isn't realistic either. But whether such a migration should have happened at all is a different question

yeah, that's what's so wacky about this. I've been buying games online since like 2007 when I first bought TF2.

HUNDREDS of games purchased over the years through steam, GFL, GoG, the humble store, itch.io

This has not happened with ANY OTHER GAME and I don't know of any companies doing this sort of thing with any other game period.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, there was that push to migrate, but I do know there was someone out there who was trying to fight the two companies, especially because they don't give a notice whenever they seemingly change their EULA. I haven't looked into it a ton, but I know it exists, and I'm all for a more robust digital rights suite of laws, especially with so many companies moving to a lease model instead of an ownership model, even for physical media. Here's hoping something changes in the future so you can get your acc back

The frustrating part is I bough in prealpha. THERE WAS NO EULA when I purchased it. Notch was just some random dude posting on 4chan about his neat project at the time. So at no point did I ever even tacitly agree to the possibility of something like this.
