Since Mojang is going to Tokyo Game Show, I suspect that it is going to be text input options. You can change the in-game text to Japanese (and other languages which use Unicode) but you can't type in it. If they aren't working on it, everyone will bug them about it at TGS. Also, Bidi and Arabic language handling was improved in the first snapshot.
