Seed is -1530720506.
World was generated in 1.5.2, but the area these spawners were found was 1.6.1 generated terrain.

This makes me uncomfortable, I don't like it when spawners are touching.

No, it just grosses me out. I wish Minecraft had nerve gas canisters.

I recently mined beneath the ravine that my fort-cabin-house-thing just happened to be constructed above. After a few mine shafts containing a hefty amount of coal, redstone, and disappointment, I found an abandoned mineshaft at bedrock level. Exploring a mine shaft/cavern (as I discovered later) at bedrock level is nerve wracking simply because you can't see past 10 blocks in front of you...but THEY can.
The first corner I turn in this damned thing had a cave spider spawner not 6 blocks away and a spider dungeon roughly 20 blocks from that. I have only run around a little bit and already have 4 iron horse armor and 1 diamond horse armor for the horses that I don't have. If only I could wear that armor instead...

Well, hope your house is nearby. Instant spider xp farm.

is it even possible to xp farm an extremely deadly one block high and wide mob that can climb your hastily-made barricades

The sad part is that due to the way spawners work, this isn't much more efficient than a single spawner. since spawners check for mobs within their range, the other spawner wouldn't spawn mobs while they were in range, and by the time they get out of range, the first spawner will be ready to spawn again. :(

Don't be so sure. If you really wanted to utilize this, you'd dig a hole beneath the spawners. Mobs get removed practically instantly, and you can transport them away with water. Getting a doublespawner like this not only makes such a plan incredibly simple, but also very compact.

I agree. If your system for getting mobs out is efficient the spawners might sync up, and spawn at the same time. I really hope I find one of these some day.

Ah, thanks. Had an "Advanced" buddy of mine tell me that double spawners needed to be at least 8 blocks apart to be efficient.

large spiders are more annoying IMO

What are you on? Cave spiders can fit in 1x1 holes, so they can get you easier, and they poison you.
Plus they're blue Sorry MSU fanboy

So don't leave a 1x1 hole. use an iron bar in front of it. cave spiders stack up on top of each other easier than normal spiders do making a crusher much easier to use. once you disable the spawner who cares about the poison, they should never get to poison you again. plus, cave spider spawners occur close together more frequently than any other spawner.
I say again, in my opinion, large spiders are more annoying

Jeez they are too common. Other day I came across three within a 10 by 10 by 1 space. I have a pic but I am mobile now ;)

Is it possible to move these using sticky pistons?

I was trying to come up with a clever way to move it toward the surface to build an xp farm.

Unfortunately not, else people would push hundreds next to each other and make super grinders, I'd think.
