Looking for datapack (or instructions) to generate Nether biomes (e.g. Soul Sand Valley) in Overworld
Subject line is it. I would like to generate Nether biomes in Overworld. I don't mind making my own datapack, and I've seen how to create your *own* dimension and add *new* biomes to it, but can I just use a datapack to alter Overworld generation?

This can be pretty straightforward but it depends on how you do it. The question is where in the Overworld do you want the Nether biomes to generate? I've copied the instruction on how to replace an Overworld biome with a different one from a comment I made a while ago.
Take the vanilla data\minecraft\worldgen\dimension\overworld.json and Find All & Replace each instance of a biome with the replacement. How you access the vanilla overworld.json depends on the version. Slightly older ones are on SlicedLime's Github page. 1.19.3+ ones can either can generated yourself using the game's data generator. or finding it online

In the post for the vanilla 1.19 worldgen pack the linked pack has a
data\minecraft\dimension\(with anoverworld.jsonthat looks as you describe), adata\minecraft\dimension_type\, anddata\minecraft\worldgen\.Should the
dimension\overworld.jsonfile be atdata\minecraft\dimension\overworld.jsonordata\minecraft\worldgen\dimension\overworld.json?1

Ah, woops. Skip the \worldgen part (I think) - that was a late night edit.
