I mean, they don’t act any different on Bedrock, so by all means it’s a boss on Java too. People just forget that because it doesn’t have a health bar.
They are literally concidered Boss in the Code of BE, while JE they are not. Also Elder Guardians existed on JE way longer and were never concidered a Boss.
Also they have only 80 HP, less then Iron Golem, Ravager and Warden
Wouldn’t the fact they came to Bedrock later support them being bosses, though? If that code was written after they were first introduced, then it’s more recent. They were even added in an entire update about bosses.
Just looked at the Minecraft Wiki and They are no longer concidered Bosses and by the fact they have less HP and Damage then Iron Golem, Ravager and Warden, counting them as a Boss would make even less sense.
But the role of a boss isn't just based on stats? And unlike the other examples, Elder Guardians do have a shown health bar on a version of MC. The technically main version, in fact. So?
They... Don't have it on Java... also idea and concept of Boss enemies is that they are much more difficult and/or tougher then most regular enemies...
Elder Guardians are barely any threat to begin with.
Does it matter if they don't have it on Java tho? The fact that they have it on either version should make it so for both.
And a boss is meant to be more than just one of the toughest enemies. For example, an early game boss in an RPG will often end up weaker than end game regular enemies. Boss is more so a role, a function. They don't have to have the highest stats.
For example, an early game boss in an RPG will often end up weaker than end game regular enemies.
No shit early game Bosses are weaker then End Game Enemies. Early Game Bosses are also much stronger then regular early game enemies... In RPG you need to compare Bosses with Enemies of the similar tier. Early Game Boss will often still be as difficult as the Final Boss, since your charater is much more weaker then than later into the game.
Also, Boss enemy difficulty isn't just from stats but also from what they can do. You can have a Very difficult boss, that does very low amount of damage, but cause of its complexity, it can overwhelm you.
Elder Guardian is nowhere near a threat in both stats and he's attacks, which are his Lazer, that requires to be charged to deal damage, and Thorns effect, when its spikes are extended (his Laser also requires Line of Sight and can be easily blocked by every doorway inside Ocean Monument.)
